Transitioning Off The Master Cleanse

Transitioning off the master cleanse and sticking with a healthy eating plan after you finish has been giving this reader some trouble….

I’ve tried this cleanse a couple times before and always felt great and inspired, my only problem was properly transitioning off of it, i would eat something yummy, then go wild! and would be thoroughly disappointing in my self.
I am currently on day 5 and going strong, working full time, and feeling very energetic and enthusiastic.
I plan to do a longer cleanse, and pay special care to the transition off into a living foods diet, that doesn’t fully ignore cooked foods, because i’ve done that before, and being on a 100% raw diet, and eating that one piece of cooked pie, will make you feel like the greatest failure, then you go downhill after that, so its no use. Be raw, but not fully enemies with cooked food, just eat the better stuff.

I would also like to add for those of you trying to eat cleaner and concerned about what you put in your body to look into a quality home water filter because the drinking water in most cities is filled with chemicals.

  • I should probably add that I'm already a relatively thin girl 5'4" 118lbs and I lost at least 10lbs and was looking shockingly thin by the end, Most of the cleanse I did not crave food, but for the last two days of the fast all I could think about was food- it was in my dreams! I felt constantly hungry... I have done it before, and do not do it to lose weight, I do it to cleanse. Could my shocking lack of control have been my body telling me it was time to feed it? in any case what can I do now? One more question What about Probiotics? Can I take them yet?

  • I just finished a 10 day cleanse and I have a question, I know how you are supposed to transition off the cleanse but I broke down yesterday the transition day when I should have just been drinking orange juice and had:
    an avacado
    Four huge bowls of homemade vegetable soup (I was making for the following day)
    a small salad with dressing
    an apple
    another avacado
    In short- I went off the rails! I could not stop myself... my problem now (the next morning) is that I feel gassy and bloated and I'm wondering if I should have some smooth move tea or do the saltwater flush to get things going because I fear this will effect my body badly if the food I ate just sits there for too long.
    Also today I had more soup, a salad, another apple- I was powerless to stop myself once I felt I was "finished" with the cleanse.. Did I ruin the good thing I had going? Any advise on what to do now?
