The Great Tea Debate
Jan 3rd, 2007 by Raylen
Every time I turn around I hear someone singing the praise of green tea.
“Green tea helps you loose weight”
“Green tea sharpens your memory”
“Green tea fights cancer”
And while I do enjoy a cup of green tea from time to time I’m here to spread the word about the forgotten son of the tea world - White Tea.
A lot of people don’t know this, but most of the health benefits you get from green tea you also get from white tea, and in my opinion white tea tastes so much better because it’s naturally sweet where as green tea is a little bitter.
And because I’m cooped up inside on this cold Minnesota evening I decided to complement this blog post with pictures of me brewing a cup of white tea.

Good tea starts with fresh loose leaf tea. Bagged tea doesn’t pack the same flavor, and most of the time it’s more expensive because you’re paying for all that extra packaging. This tea cost $22 a pound. That sounds like a lot, but 1 pound a dry tea will make around 100 cups of tea.

Next I get some filtered water boiling. If you’ve read my master cleanse guide you know how I feel about tap water. A simple water filter is one of the best things you can do for your health.
If you’re saying to yourself “that’s one dingy looking tea kettle” I agree. And the other side is even worse! That trusty little kettle has brewed more then a 1000 cups of tea over the years.

I don’t know what this thing is called, but it’s a convenient little tool for steeping your tea.

I let the tea steep for about 4 minutes. Don’t let it sit too long because it will taste bitter.

Pour and serve. I decided to drink this one on ice. I don’t put any sugar or sweeteners in my tea, but sometimes I will use fruit to mix things up. I add the fruit after the tea has steeped and before I put in the ice, if I’m drinking it cold.
There’s my white tea sales pitch. Maybe next time you’re in the tea isle of your local grocery store reaching for the green tea you’ll think of this and pick up some white tea as well.

Hi Raylen
A few months ago you sent a news letter regarding filtered water system for our home unfortunately I no longer have the information and the brand name so I was wondering if you could send it to me please.
Also I’ve seen many brand names on the internet some very expensive, I was wondering if the one you’ve suggested really filter the water. The reason I ask is because there are so many scams going around and people are so easy to be foolled. Recently I bought a collon cleasing kit from the internet the product did not work. All they had promisied especialy bowl movements did not happen for me. Luckily I was able to return the product and got a full refound.
I guess my question is, can I trust your sugestion.
Lastly I’ve recently read this book ‘Natural cures’ from Kevin Trudeau filled with suggestions. If you are familiar with the autor and books can you please share your opinions on some of his suggestions.
Than you
Lynda
Point taken. I’ll add this to the supply list for the M.C. diet. Thanks for sharing.
