If you’ve been having trouble staying on the master cleanse because you still had to cook for your family I think you’ll enjoy this advice posted by one of the readers of this blog…
“I would like to help & motivate you all who are on this simple & effective diet by sharing what I have been through & still on. I am a chef & I live to to eat ( I am not kidding, my life revolves around my family & food, I smell & see it every waking moment, & even in my dreams, I read cookbooks almost everynight because I love to cook & imagine food & also more practically I have to plan my familiy’s meal for the next day. I am the only member of my family who can cook & I cook EVERYTHING from SCRATCH, I mean everything other than the pasta noodle ( that I leave to the experts). Imagine, while I am on this cleanse….I still have to cook for my husband and 2 Daughters 2-3 times a day- everyday, because I have spoiled them & they do not like to replays or left overs, so I make something different every time if I can.
And if that is not sadistic enough, we own a restaurant where I work full time in a restaurant as the sauce maker and server, baker & everything in between. Just imagine the torture of being in front of food all day thinking, seeing ,smelling, making & serving them all day.
Divine or sadistic, depends which side or the fence you are….you decide. But ….. it really boils down to what motivates you. For me right now, it is because we are going on a trip to Paris with my family at the end of the week & I feel sluggish & cleanse my colon so I can restrain myself from eating poorly when we get there, also it it a nice bonus to loose some weight so I will look good in picture. Although I have to admit, it now seems like the wrong time to do so, after reading the all the French food blogs everyday & seeing all the glorious food Paris has to offer. (Quiver with anticipation!!!) But I have already started when I stumbled on the blogs, so I will finish it, if it is the last thing I do, just to prove to myself that I can do this, no matter the temptation. I am consoling myself with the fact that I can just to it again later this year, if I eat poorly, after all I have done this 2 years ago for the first time, and was successful. I made it all the way to the 10th day without cheating, but only ease out of it for about 2 days ( because I did not know you had to ease out), but I just did not feel like eating much or eating junk afterwords, which goes to show how well it worked. I timed it perfectly this time and started last Monday, I am on my 9th day, and will do it properly this time and ease out for 3 day, just in time before we get on our plane to Paris! Yippee, I am so happy that the Eiffel tower and the museums aren’t edible!! Good luck to all of you, If I can do it you can do it too.”
