Today I got a question from Marie, who’s been doing the Master Cleanse for 6 days and still hasn’t lost any weight.
so I am on day 6 of TMC…I have yet to loose a pound and am becoming a bit discouraged..everything I am reading is saying how everyone has lost weight but I do not know when I should start seeing results..any advice???

I did the the master cleanse for 6 days and lost 1 pound. I did everything by the book. I was tired the whole time. I have a rash all up and down my arms. It's horrible. I haven't had a period in 3 years and started my period. I barely eliminated. How could I possibly have cleansed my body with no eliminated. Where did it go? In my urine? If it was working how could I not eliminate all the crap out of my body? Total waste of my time.
If you are not seeing results for the master cleanse, consider stopping the salt water flush!!!
In my opinion, the reason you are not losing weight is due to the SWF. Every time I have seen people complain that they haven't been losing weight on it, they are following the routine precisely including doing the SWF. In the original book written by Stanley Burroughs, he says that the SWF is probably the best method but that if it doesn't work for you can use the lax tea day and night instead. My point is I am not a heretic for saying to skip it.
I have experimented with this. The first time I did a cleanse I went 3 days with just the tea and then thought I'd up my game on day 4. I ended up gaining after three consecutive days of losing.
Later, I was easing into the cleanse and doing some days 100% on and some days only used the lemonade for 2 meals. I was losing weight consistently until I added the SWF. I tried it two days in a row and ended up gaining 7 lbs. of water weight, puffing up like mad and feeling terrible for those two days. On day two of trying it particularly, I drank the SWF, did not experience any flushing, then went on to drink my lemonade all day and was amazed that I hardly had to pee at all. My body just latched on to the water like crazy. I learned my lesson and didn't do it again, assuming that my body would simply she the excess water in the next day or two. Not so! I only lost a pound a day from there when I had gained 7 from water retention! I actually had to break my fast and do a watermelon cleanse, eating just watermelon for a day, as it is a natural diuretic, before I shed the water weight. The next day I restarted the MC from the beginning.
During this next phase, I went for 12 days on the MC, and I did great. Loved it. However, in the middle of there I did try the SWF one more time and predictably gained weight the next day. I actually realized that I lost 3 days of weight loss for each time I did the flush. I was 157, 157.8, 157.2, and 156.4. I normally would have just gone from 157 to 156.4 overnight.
Anyhow, it frustrates me when I see people being adamant about you HAVE to read the book, and then you HAVE to do the Salt water flush, and also you HAVE to use grade B maple syrup. Actually, if you read the book you will see that both skipping the SWF if it doesn't agree with you, AND using grade a maple syrup and just fine according to the author. What I do personally is use 7 tbsp. of grade a maple to one tablespoon of deep rich organic blackstrap molasses. That way I am not spending literally $7 a day on just maple syrup (the price for grade b where I'm at) and I'm still getting all the goodness of those minerals. Blackstrap molasses is amazing stuff! Just my solution.

hi i was wondering if i have to use grade B maple syrup ...i bought grade A because it was the only one I saw
Hi everybody. I am on day 2 of the MC and I woke up today so swollen and puffy. I realized I didn't drink much water yesterday but just did the lax tea, SWF and lemonade all day. So today I'm drinking more water and I hope to see some type of weight loss soon. I was surprised that I didn't see any weight loss at all after eating nothing. But instead I gained water weight. Amber, thank you for reminding me that I can do whatever I want to do but that the plan has been designed to work and by following it I will see results. Also, thanks for reminding me that there are people who will not eat today, tomorrow or any time soon. Thanks for the motivations :)
Robyn, the truth is you can do anything you want! It is your body, this is just a detox that has been explained to you and made this way for a simple reason, It works! If you want to modify it to fit your lifestyle by all means do it, but if you want significant results and serious cleansing of your body you will follow the plan exactly how it is written out for you. I completed 6 days of the master cleanse and lost a total of 12lbs when I was on a plateau and couldn't lose any weight. I felt 100 times better after the cleanse and can't wait to start it tomorrow! My advice to you would be do not eat anything if you can, It's only 6-10 days and many people starving in other countries don't even eat that often. Good luck.
Hi Raylen, I set goal to do the MC for 3 days. Yes, I completed them. I did eat a grapefruit when I felt I couldn't go without something on day 2. Today is day 4 and I decided instead of not doing the cleanse anymore, that I would do the partial one you stated could be done. So, I would like to eat breakfast, use MC for lunch and eat dinner. Is this okay? Can I eat 2 meals this soon or should I follow the fruits & veggie getting of the cleanse routine and then go to this method. I'm confused! Also, how much of the MC Lemonade should I consume for the one meal? I had some broth this morning and rye crackers. I haven't eaten or consumed anything else. Please help me!
By the way, I have more energy today, then any of the 3 past.
Hi. I've read somewhere on your website that I can take wheatgrass for protein while on the Lemonade diet. I just want to ask, are there any other substitutes for wheatgrass? Can I take kefir instead? I don't know where to post my question so I just posted it here. Thank you very much.
