Here’s a qustion about exercising on the Master Cleanse from reader.
“I heard this is a very great way to loose weight but I have never cleansed before. In four months I have lost 35 pounds on my own with lots of running and biking in my gym, so if I am understanding everyones comments this is all you get to do is drink this for 10 day’s straight with nothing else to eat? If you continue to exercise alot during this 10 day period won’t you feel weak and tired? It is very hard for me to drink water in the first place, let alone give up drinking alcohol for 10 days…..I appreciate any kind of feed back.”
I get this question a lot, and the answer is yes, you will feel weak and tired if you exercise on the master cleanse.
This doesn’t mean you have to sit on your butt the entire time you’re on the cleanse, but stay away from intense workouts like weight lifting and hard cardio workouts like sprinting.

I'm on the master cleanse now and I have casually skiied for 6 hours (stopping every 2 hours for lemonade mix .. I used double) one day, did yoga one day, weight lifted with 30 minutes of reading on the elipitcal another day, and ran 3 miles twice. My 3 mile jog was suppose to be a 5 mile jog, but I wasn't feeling my normal "runners high". I scaled it back. The 2nd time, I went for a jog, I didn't bring a watch or phone (for timing). I just ran on how my body felt. I am 100% sure it was slower than my normal pace but I'm okay with that.
I did those things prior to the MC as my normal routine. I personally never feel like 6 hours of skiing is a workout for my body .. so my un-professional opinion would say to workout on the level of how you feel.
PS: If I drink the SWF, I don't get a movement for 2 hours. Weird. So, the 2nd time I did it - I went for a jog in the neighborhood (loops around my house, "just in case" I needed a pit stop). I went for about 10 minutes, and it definitely help move things around quicker...
Thank you very much for this package. I want to start the cleansing but I have a problem with getting one of the basic ingredient - Grade B Maple syrup. The only maple syrup I managed to get in one store after several searches in my locality is the one used in bakery which definitely is not the organic or even genuine maple. Is there any other item I can use as a substitute? Secondly can doing the cleansing for only 3 days be beneficial, even if it means repeating the 3-day course in another period? I'm afraid I may not go beyond 3 days given my present condition as a working mother of 4 little kids who have no househelp and is also nursing an old and sick mother-in-law.
I am thinking about starting the cleanse in 3 days but can only commit to it for 5 days. Is it worth it to only do 5 days my first time? Will it wack out my body too much to go on and off of it so quickly?
Please help if you can

Heavy workouts aren't recommended, but light exercise is usually fine to do on the master cleanse diet.
