I see a lot of people in the natural health industry saying the medical establishment is corrupt, and drug companies only care about money. I’m sure there’s some truth to it, but I don’t think it’s as bad as some people make it out to be.<\/p>\n
I’m obviously a supporter of natural alternatives and have experienced the benefits first hand – that being said, some of the claims I see people making worry me.<\/p>\n
I’m not going to say any names because these guys are notorious for suing people, but I cringe every time I see someone selling a natural cure for cancer or some other serious disease. It’s one thing to lead a healthy lifestyle to prevent serious diseases, but to say you can cure cancer with a vitamin or some other natural remedy I think is irresponsible.<\/p>\n
That doesn’t mean natural alternatives don’t have a place in treating serious disease because they do. I seen a news story a few weeks ago about cancer patients receiving a high dose of vitamin c as part of their treatment, and it helped.<\/p>\n
For preventing disease, and treating less serious ailments like fatigue, headaches, aches & pains, and for things like weight loss, clearing your skin, ect. I think natural health is the way to go. For anything life threatening I would see a doctor, and use natural treatments in addition to whatever my doctor prescribed.<\/p>\n
Another thing you have to keep in mind is a lot of these natural health gurus are only in it for the money. Don’t get me wrong I don’t have a problem with people making money from natural health, but a lot of their claims (like a natural cure for cancer) are taking advantage of people who are in a vulnerable position and I think that’s wrong.<\/p>\n
