This question comes from Nadia, and it’s about catching a cold while you’re on the Master Cleanse:

I’m on day 11. It’s not my first time, I’m going for 17 days. But, for the first time I caught a cold and worried about taking medication. I ended up taking neocitran. Other than the cold feeling good with 6 more days to go. Anyone else get a cold or illness while on the cleanse? What did you do?

Hi Nadia,

The most important thing is to never sacrifice your health for the sake of finishing the Master Cleanse. Seeing as how you’ve done the cleanse before I’m sure you know the toll the detoxing process can have on your body, you don’t want to be fighting off a illness on top of that.

If you’re just feeling a little under the weather you can try drinking some hot herbal tea, and taking hot bathes to help manage the symptoms of  your cold while you finish up the Master Cleanse.

Good luck, and stay healthy!

  1. Dumping tons of sugar into our system is very unhealthy and inflammatory. I suspect I got sick – very sick – from disrupting my immune system more than loosening some toxins. Stupid diet. I can’t believe I was dumb enough to get talked into it and told not to do other research. I am glad I quit by day three.

  2. I am on day two of the MC and feel pretty good except i have had terrible heartburn both days. I did the MC befor and did not have this problem. Any suggestions
