Today I got a question from Jon about exercising during the master cleanse:
I just finished up my first day on the master cleanse. I have not felt any hunger, except for an occasional craving for junk food, but i am accustomed to handling that. My question is, I usually work out three to four days a week, i do muay thai (kickboxing), and jiu-jitsu(grappling) and 1 or 2 days will also do cardio and do some light weight lifting, so i am wondering if i can continue this while on the master cleanse or if not, how much exercise can i do during the master cleanse? Any answers would be appreciated. Thank you and good luck to everyone doing the master cleanse!
Hi Jon, it sounds like you’re following a pretty intense workout routine which can lead to problems if you’re pushing yourself too hard while doing the master cleanse. First and foremost you have to pay attention to your body. It’s fine to exercise during the master cleanse, but stop immediately if you feel faint.
As far as your current workout routine I would cut out weight lifting all together. If you’re doing any sparring during your muay thai and jiu-jitsu I would stop that too. Drills and shadow boxing are fine just try to keep the intensity around 50% of what you normally would.

I am going to stop the cleanse soon and have had problems with orange juice in the past. It actually makes my forehead sweat. I know that sounds strange, but I have always thought that was some sort of allergic reaction. It seems like it would hurt my stomach as well. Is there another kind of juice I can start with for that first and second day off the cleanse? (Grapefruit juice is another one I have never been able to drink).
Is it safe to run a 5k race right after being in the master cleanse diet?
I started the diet on a Monday stop at day 3, started the orange juice on Thursday and planning to have the vegetable soup and rye wafers on Friday and having the race on
Saturday. I exercised twice during the diet and I'm feeling great! No lack of energy or hunger.
is it ok two take extra wheatgrass while on the master cleanse,also i have been doing whole body cleansing for several years now,but never did the master cleanse before. how much can i benefit from doing this cleanse?
