Managing The Master Cleanse Side Effects

Hello, I hope you’re all doing well.

There’s been lots of good feed back on this blog. It’s nice to read about your experiences with the master cleanse, and your comments have prompted the writing of today’s newsletter.

It’s about the side effects of the master cleanse.

When you do the master cleanse you’re almost certainly going experience some side effects. Your body will be going through a major detox, and it’s going to affect you.

Fatigue, aches, and headaches are the most common, but each persons experience is unique.

There are some things you can do to lesson the negative effects of the master cleanse, but before I get that I think it’s important to restate the advice I give in my master cleanse guide….

—————————————————————————————
Always pay attention to your body, and don’t be afraid to stop in the middle of the Master Cleanse if you start to feel any adverse effects. Remember, the goal is good health, and you should not jeopardize your current health in the obtainment of that goal.
—————————————————————————————

I know how hard it can be to stop in the middle of the cleanse when you’ve got yourself pumped up to finish it through, but if you’re not comfortable with how you feel sometimes it’s the best thing to do.

But to help lesson those uncomfortable feeling you can follow these 3 tips…

1. Take it easy while on the cleanse. You want to avoid physically demanding activities and stressful activates. The master cleanse does take a toll on your body, and you won’t have the strength and energy you normally do so you’ll want to take it easy.

2. Drink lots of filtered water. You can drink your fill of water, but it’s important you drink filtered water. Tap water and bottled water contain chemicals, and the master cleanse is all about detoxing your body not putting toxic material back into your body.

To save on filtered water you can use a home filtration system like the Aquasana that which gives you filtered water for just 9 cents a gallon.

3. Make sure your adding enough maple syrup and lemon. The master cleanse ingredients provide your body with nutrition and it’s important that you don’t leave anything out or skimp on certain items.

Following these steps should help lesson the side effects of the master cleanse, but please remember not to push your body to hard.

I hope this helps makes your master cleanse experience a little more pleasurable

  • Hi, my name is Bernice. I just finished my master cleanse for the first time. I was excited the whole time through it. I did not experience no side effects and had energy the whole time. I got through it by prayer. I do a 21day fast once a year on fruits and veggies. But this was quite different and somewhat challenging. I will do again.

  • It's funny you sent this newsletter today, I was aiming for 5 days on the mc and today is that day. Lots of lifting in my job and I do feel the extra fatigue, so I decided about an hr before reading this that I will start easing off now. I'll shoot for 10 days next time. Thanks for all the advise!!

  • As someone who has lost weight and is finally winning the battle of the bulge, I thank you for this great post!

  • Hmm, after reading all the comments I wonder about the SSF. I took it last night and this morning - I had no problem drinking it but used cold water. I see maybe I shouldve use warm? Doesn this make much of a difference because I've had less movement than I do on a normal day.

Oh and coffee is a BIG no no or just a suggestion? I drink only organic coffee and just had 1 cup instead of 3 this am (day 1 of the MC).

  • I tried to do it in the weekend. But my headaches were so bad this was only day one. I wondered, can I take anything for this? I didn't realise you needed filtered water. I only had tap water! I also couldn't do the Sea salt flush I tried for an hour, nearly vomitted then had the tea instead.

  • I've been on the master cleanse for 16 days now and i feel really good so I'm going for 40 days.. I've lost 13lbs in 2weeks and I also do the Sea Salt flush every 3 days.. The only side affect that I experience with The Master Cleanse is my monthly cycle is real light but other then that I'm good..I even go to the gym 6 days out the week and i haven't felt any weakness in my body... ? I love it!!!

  • Today is my last day of the 'ease out' process and I have been juicing my fruits and veggies and haven't had any problems. As for taking it easy while on the cleanse, I did on my very first cleanse. When I did the cleanse this time around, I was able to go to the gym every day starting on day 3. I did weight training ( light weights) and I did a Zumba class twice a week. I didn't feel tired afterwards and in fact, I had a lot of energy!!

  • @ Hanna A: are you easing out of the cleanse? Don't skip that part or shorten the ease out time! If you are still having trouble, I would try to drink the smooth move tea to see if that helps or take a pro-biotic :)

@Charles: I am on day 2 of TMC and I haven't been doing the SWF. I've done it in the past and it is really awful. However, last time I did the cleanse without the SWF it WAS much harder. I think I will just brave the pain and do the flush tonight!
