Wow it looks like we got a bunch of people on board to do the New Year Master Cleanse!
I’ll have more details tomorrow, but for now my advice to anyone who wants to join us is to take a minute and write out what you hope to accomplish by doing the Master Cleanse. Staying motivated is very important, and having some specific goals to focus on will be a big help as you’re doing the cleanse.
This is going to fun! Talk soon.

My daughter and I are on Day 3 of our third Master Cleanse in two years! Each time has been different for both of us but at least we know what to expect now. It took both of us several months to prepare psychologically to commence but it is amazing how quickly we surrendered to the process and especially gratifying knowing that we will achieve not only weight loss, but total detoxification of our bodies. It's been very helpful for both of us to have each other's support and the support of our friends and family - some think we are crazy but they still support us! DON'T GIVE UP OR GIVE IN!! You can do it!!! Once it's over, you will be happy you persevered and definitely feel very proud that you did it! I am positive that there is only a very small percentage of people in this country that could actually complete the 10-day program. Keep up the good work everyone! Keep your vision of your healthy self in front of you!!
Hey Angella,
You will find you will feel all kinds of weird stuff going on. I think that is your body detoxifying. I had to do alot of stretching.Congrats on day 4. keep going. belle
Salt water - think of chicken soup as you're drinking it. I used to have a big problem with it, but this helped: when drinking, I don't really open my mouth, otherwise I do throw up... try biting down on the edge of the cup and sip it in fast. After each 4-6oz, I rinse my mouth with ice water.
Hope this helps someone. Also, headaches and stomach cramps are normal.
heidi,
I started on Jan 3 as well, let's do this right!
Happy New Year! I finally got up the courage to start the cleanse on Fri Jan 2.So I'm in my second day.I had a bad headache last night but feel ok today. The salt water made me want to throw up yesterday so I'm going to try and stick to smooth move tea.I'm hopeful I can make it the whole 10 days.A friend did it a few months ago and lost 20 pds.I'm doing the cleanse first and then going on to The Fat Flush Plan by Ann Louise Gittleman I have about 50 pds to lose.I'll let you know how I do.
I and two of my friends decided to start the master cleanse on Monday 29 December. The worst part of it so far is drinking the 2 pints of salt water in the morning. The maple syrup, cyanne pepper and lemon is ok and I do not feel hungry but I suppose what I am missing is we would miss doing this is the chewing of food which is not done as I am drinking fluid only. I have also been drinking water which has helped to top up my daily fluid intake.
Day 4, I woke up with stomach cramps which lasted up till 12 noon. I dont know if this is normal but my back has started hurting me during the 4th day too. Can someone let me know if there are any further side effects from this.
Thanks Raylen
This will be the second time that I will be doing the full 10 day master cleanse. In preparation, a left out the coffee and sugar from my diet yesterday. It has been more than a year since my first experience on this diet. I recall the numerous benefits that I felt from the first time I successfully completed ten days. I look forward to all the physical benefits I will recieve, but even more to the clearness of mind that I experienced the first time. I have procrastinated all through 2008 to make the master cleanse an annual thing. This is an awesome time to be able to do this at the same time with so many other committed people.
To our success!
Brent
I am starting January 3, 2009, this is my first.
