This is it, the final day of the easing off the Master Cleanse. Today I had my first solid food in 13 days. It was a small serving of plain yogurt with some fresh blueberries mixed in. It felt a little strange to eat again, and my stomach was stirring after I ate it but it went down good.
Just chewing the blueberries felt like a taste explosion in my mouth. After 13 days of water and lemonade my taste buds are really sensitive and those fresh blueberries tasted incredible.
As of today I’m 7 pounds lighter then I was when I started the cleanse. It will take a few days of normal eating for my body weight to stabilize, but I expect to keep around 5 pounds off which isn’t bad for 13 days.
Tomorrow I’m going to try drinking a protein shake. I going to go to the gym and want to make sure to get some protein in my body before I work out. I’ll also be eating some fresh fruit and vegetables.
I’ll be making a post this week about how to eat after your finish the Master Cleanse, but for now I’m still taking it easy and avoiding anything that would upset my stomach.

Today was the 2nd day off the Master Cleanse, and I’m still not ready for whole foods. Today I’ve been drinking diluted orange juice and vegetable broth.
For the vegetable broth I put some carrots, celery, cabbage, and onion into a pressure cooker with 3 cups of water. I let it cook for 1/2 an hour then strained the broth and drank it. There’s no specific recipe I follow. Whatever veggies you want to cook up will work just fine.
It’s also okay to make the broth in a regular kettle, but I find a pressure cooker works best.
One thing that is important is to make the broth from fresh vegetables. Premade vegetable broth from the store is loaded with salt, preservatives, and other unnatural substances that can be hard on your stomach. So take the time and make your own.
Tomorrow I’ll be adding a small serving of yogurt to my diet. This will be the first solid food I’ve eaten in almost 2 weeks, and I’m expecting a little discomfort.

Today is the first day off the Master Cleanse for me, but it’s very important not to jump right back into solid foods.
I’ve been drinking fresh squeezed orange juice that’s been diluted with water (50% orange juice 50% water). It’s incredible how sensitive your taste buds get from doing the Master Cleanse. Even watered down orange juice tastes like heaven to me.
Doing the 10 day Master Cleanse has energized my body and lifted my spirits which goes to show how important it is to give your body a break once in a while. I’m feeling strong and healthy today. I’m also feeling good about making through the cleanse. Achieving any goal is always a real confidence booster, and that confidence can be channeled into other areas of your life besides your health.
I will be spending Easter with my family tomorrow, and Mom is planning on making a traditional Easter meal… but I’ll be sticking to juice and some vegetable broth. I would not be able to handle a heavy meal right now and if I tried I think I would get sick.
Another important thing you should do after you finish the Master Cleanse is replace the good bacteria that you lose while cleansing. You can buy a product called “probiotics” at most vitamin stores, or you can eat some yogurt. I like to eat yogurt myself, just make sure it’s plain yogurt and doesn’t contain any artificial flavoring. You can mix in some fresh fruit if you like to make it taste better.
Have a happy Easter everyone, I’ll have another update tomorrow night when I get back from my parents house. - Raylen

Master Cleanse Journal - Day 10
Happy Good Friday to everyone. It’s Day 10 the final day of the Master Cleanse, and I just want to say how incredible it’s been being able to share in this experience with everyone who’s been following along on this blog.
When I started the Master Cleanse I said my goal was to break out of a Winter slump, and I have to say it’s been a success. When I wake up in the morning my mind is sharp and ready to go. My mood has definitely improved, and I feel good about life in general.
It really is incredible the amazing benefits you can reap by spending a few days on the Master Cleanse. The success stories that have been posted on this site during the last 10 days are truly awesome. Congratulations to everyone who made it this far, and good luck to everyone who’s going to stay on the cleanse a little longer.
If you had some trouble with the Master Cleanse this time around don’t be discouraged. It can be difficult, and going from whole foods to all liquids is not an easy thing to do. If you’re new to the Master Cleanse going 10 days can be a challenge. If you’re having a hard time try going just 1 day, and then work your way up from their.
Tomorrow will be my first day off the cleanse. I’ll still be on all liquids because my stomach is in no shape to handle whole foods, and to be honest I don’t even desire food. I plan on heading to the store to pick up some orange juice which I’ll dilute with water before I drink it. I’m also going to keep on taking the laxatives until I’m back on whole foods.
In the next few days I’ll be writing about what to do after you finish the Master Cleanse. When you finish the cleanse you’ll have momentum on your side. It’s important to keep moving forward with that positive energy, and not slip back into old habits.
If you have any specific questions about what to do after the cleanse you can post them here and I’ll get those answered.
These past couple days have been a blast for me, and I can’t believe it’s already the last day. Thanks to everyone who took the time to visit this site, I hope it was of some help to you.

Master Cleanse Journal - Day 9
8:00am - I can’t belive it’s already been 9 days. Doing the Master Cleanse has yielded some amazing results so far, with the most important one being almost endless energy.
I’m waking up earlier then I normally do, which is somethings I’m going to continue after the cleanse, and I’m getting a lot more done during the day. Granted I don’t have the same stamina I would on my normal diet so I can’t push myself too hard mentally or physically, but I got a light energetic feeling that carries me through the day.
In the Day 8 comments I noticed someone mentioned psyllium husk. If you’re not seeing solid elimanations or if you’re bothered by hunger adding psyllium husk can help. If you look at most of those expensive colon cleansing kits psyllium husk is usually the main ingredient. I like it because it works different then the salt water or tea, psyllium husk binds with internal waste and make it easier to push the waste out through your body.
Taking psyllium husk can also be somewhat filling which is another benefit Master Cleanser’s will find helpful.
I’ll post another update later on today. 2 more days to go!

10:00pm - With day 9 winding down I thought I would post what I’ve got planned for the next few days.
Tomorrow’s going to be the last day on the Master Cleanse for me, and then on days 11, 12, 13 I’ll be making the transition back to whole food which I’ll also be posting on this site.
I’ll also be sharing some advice on long term strategies for keeping, and improving the huge health gains we all made doing the Master Cleanse.
If there’s anything you would like to know about what to do after the cleanse you can post them in the comments below and I’ll work on a “Post-Master Cleanse” write up this week.
I’ll see you all tomorrow for Day 10. - Raylen

Master Cleanse Journal - Day 8

5:40am - It’s the 8th day of the Master Cleanse and I feel amazing. I’m breathing better, sleeping better, and I feel energized.
I got together with a few friends last night and had no problems sipping my water while they all enjoyed their meal. One thing I have been wanting to do is hit the gym to lift weights. Other then some light cardio I’ve been pretty inactive these last few days, and I’m ready to get in a good workout. But I’ll get there soon enough, for now I’m just focusing on the Master Cleanse.
I starting reading a book yesterday called “The Attraction Factor” by Joe Vitale. He was one of the people featured “The Secret”. It’s a good book. It shows you how to attract the things you want into your life and how to achieve your goals. If you’ve read some of the classic personal development books you’ll find this book covers a lot of the same material, but it’s still worth reading.
Here’s the link to Amazon.com if you’re interested The Attraction Factor
Back to the Master Cleanse…
My work schedule has been hectic these past 8 days. At first I thought this would interfere with the cleanse, but I actually think it helped. It’s hard to do the Master Cleanse and not think about food. If you don’t have something to keep you busy that little voice inside your head telling you to eat will drive you crazy.
Watching TV is also bad. I don’t watch much TV myself, but it would be maddening to have to sit through all those food commercials while doing the Master Cleanse.
That’s all I got for this mornings update, I’m off to make a pitcher of lemonade with tangerine herbal tea.
I can’t believe it’s already been 8 days!

Master Cleanse Journal - Day 7

It’s Day 7, and a lot of the difficulties with hunger I went through during the first few days of the cleanse have let up. I’ve found that’s usually the case with most people who go on the Master Cleanse - If you can just get past the first 3 days it does get easier.
One of the most important parts of succeeding on the Master Cleanse, or just about anything, is learning to enjoy the process.
If you have a running dialog in your head that goes something like…
“I don’t like this I want to eat”
“I don’t like this I want to eat”
“I don’t like this I want to eat”
ect.
You wont last long on the Master Cleanse.
Know that all the things you’re going through are part of the process of cleansing your body, and whatever satisfaction you might get from breaking the cleanse to eat is nothing compared to how great you’ll feel when you finish the cleanse.
I’m going to meet up with some friends latter on tonight which means I’ll almost certainly be around food. Sometimes I think they enjoy tormenting me by eating in front of me when I do the cleanse, but that’s what friends are for.

I’m about to head out to pick up some more lemons to carry me through the next 3 days, but I thought I would give a piece of advice to a problem I see some of you are having.
In the comments below Tina wrote:
“I also tried the sea salt again last night and it didn’t work as fast as before although I still experienced some cramping but nothing like before.”
I’ve had this happen to me as well. I’ll do the salt water flush or drink some laxative tea and sometimes nothing happens for hours. Other times it works in minutes. The trick to making it work is to move around. If you take the laxatives and sit down they won’t go to work right away, you have to move around.
I know some of you have experienced this first hand. You take the laxatives at home and nothing happens, but then you leave the house and start walking around and it feels like the dam is about to burst.
If you can move around after taking the laxatives you’ll have much more predictable eliminations.
It doesn’t take much, and you don’t even have to leave the house. After you take the laxatives just move around for a few minutes. Walk around the house, jump up and down, stretch, or do a goofy dance. Sit ups work good too. Even flexing your abdominal muscles while sitting can help get things moving.
That should solve the laxative problem.
Awesome job to everyone doing the Master Cleanse. The highlight of my day is to log on to this site and read how everyone is doing. Keep up the good work!

Master Cleanse Journal - Day 6

5:30am
Good morning everyone. It’s Day 6 of the 10 day Master Cleanse.
Yesterday was an active day for me and I’m feeling it today. When I woke up this morning I was sore and had a headache. It’s not one of those piercing headaches that feels like a drill in one spot, but more like my whole head is throbbing. I took a hot shower which helped some, but I’m still feeling less then a 100%.
I’m just going to push through this and hopefully it will go away by this afternoon.
On a positive note I did receive two compliments about my skin yesterday. I’m surprised that more people don’t use the Master Cleanse to improve their skin. Especially those with acne. They would save a lot of money on skin care products if they did. Not to mention all those products only treat the existing acne and don’t address the source of the pimples.
I had acne into my early 20’s and tried every product in the skin care isle to get rid of it. After years of fighting acne I went on the Master Cleanse and in just a few days saw significant improvement in my skin. When I finished the cleanse I cut way back on my sugar intake and that completely cleared my skin. My friends and family were shocked when they saw how fast my acne cleared up.
Has anyone else used the Master Cleanse to get rid of acne?

6:35pm
This is just a quick update, but by reading through every one’s comments I think a lot of you will relate.
It’s about the funny things we crave while on the Master Cleanse. You would think after going a few days without whole food you would be dying for pizza, steak, or ice cream. Most of the time you don’t want any of that. After 6 days on the cleanse just the thought of big slab of meat or any other high fat/high sugar food makes makes my stomach churn.
What do I crave? A piece of whole wheat toast. I don’t know why but I’ve been thinking about it all day. Just thought I would share that.
Other then the toast cravings things are going good. The headache let up around 1:00 which is good. I’m also seeing solids coming out during eliminations which is really good.
I did see someone came along and posted “There is no way I’m believing this actually works.” in the comments.
You come across people like this once in while who no matter how many countless thousands people have personally benefited from the Master Cleanse refuse to believe it works.
Every one’s entitled to their opinion, but if you run into people like that don’t let their negativity get to you. If the Master Cleanse is working for you that’s all that matters.

Master Cleanse Journal - Day 5

9:50am
It’s Day 5, half way to my 10 day goal, and so far this morning I’m not feeling any hunger. I do feel colder then I usually do when I’m on my normal diet, but that’s common on the Master Cleanse.
I have been drinking a lot of water over the last 5 days (around a 150 ounces a day) and that helps out a lot with controlling hunger. One of things you never want to do is wait until you’re hungry to drink water, or the lemonade. If you wait you’re cravings will be more severe and you’ll be more likely to give in and eat solid food. So just keep drinking even if you don’t really feel like it.
Keep up the good work, I’ll be back later with another post - Raylen

11:00pm
We’re past the half way point! Day 5 for me was a little difficult. I wasn’t hungry, but I was hauling a lot of old items to the Salvation Army, moving furniture around, and cleaning my house top to bottom. I was beat by the time I was finished. Then again I probably would have been wore out even if I was on my normal diet.
I did have a pleasant surprise this afternoon when I got dressed to run to the store for more lemons. My well used belt that’s been buckled at the 3rd hole slid right past to the 4th hole. Progress! So far I’ve lost 7 pounds. I know some of this is water weight, but it still feels good to see that dial on the scale move backwards.
4 more days - Talk to you all tomorrow - Raylen
