5:40am -  It’s the 8th day of the Master Cleanse and I feel amazing. I’m breathing better, sleeping better, and I feel energized.

I got together with a few friends last night and had no problems sipping my water while they all enjoyed their meal. One thing I have been wanting to do is hit the gym to lift weights. Other then some light cardio I’ve been pretty inactive these last few days, and I’m ready to get in a good workout. But I’ll get there soon enough, for now I’m just focusing on the Master Cleanse.

I starting reading a book yesterday called “The Attraction Factor” by Joe Vitale. He was one of the people featured “The Secret”. It’s a good book. It shows you how to attract the things you want into your life and how to achieve your goals. If you’ve read some of the classic personal development books you’ll find this book covers a lot of the same material, but it’s still worth reading.

Here’s the link to Amazon.com if you’re interested The Attraction Factor

Back to the Master Cleanse…

My work schedule has been hectic these past 8 days. At first I thought this would interfere with the cleanse, but I actually think it helped. It’s hard to do the Master Cleanse and not think about food. If you don’t have something to keep you busy that little voice inside your head telling you to eat will drive you crazy.

Watching TV is also bad. I don’t watch much TV myself, but it would be maddening to have to sit through all those food commercials while doing the Master Cleanse.

That’s all I got for this mornings update, I’m off to make a pitcher of lemonade with tangerine herbal tea.

I can’t believe it’s already been 8 days!

Well, here goes personal… This morning I had a “solid” extraction that was black as coal. It happened a little before the swf and again after. It wasn’t much, more like rabbit pellets ;), but the past 7 days has been liquid. I have to believe that perhaps I have flushed out something that was nudged in there somewhere. Also, my eyes have been a little hazy as well but I had thought maybe that was due to the heavy pollen.
I have lost 10 lbs to date and realize it is a lot of H2O weight so I am not naive to think this is going to stay off but it sure feels good seeing the scales. I have been walking and lifting light weights throughout and have felt great.
Larry and Karen, you may want to try mixing psyllium husk powder in H2O before bed. That may help with some flushing…
Only a few more days to go.

Day 5 for me - I am still feeling okay, not sluggish or anything - I have been around food and candy and have wanted to eat food but have not - I am doing good with having alot of will power this week. I spent many hours yesterday again gardening and dont feel tired or too sore so I am happy about that. The SWF is making me gag at this point and I cant take it anymore - if I just do the tea in the am and pm, will that be okay?? I am excited however that I did go shopping today and bought myself two pairs of pants a size smaller than my normal size. Anyway, thats it for now. Have a Great Day everyone!!

    Day 11 for me!

So far so good. I have not felt hungry at all during this cleanse. I have felt tired and hazy on a couple of occasions and have also experienced an upset stomach as well, but all is to be expected. Don’t forget about the chills. I have had a heater next to my desk every day this week.

Still holding out for 15 to 21 days. What a wonderful experience for your body.

I’m on my Day 5 and I think this has been the hardest day for me. Up until now, I haven’t had any hunger pains really or felt tired, but today I was just lathargic. It might be because I have only had two glasses of lemonade. In regards to that, I don’t know if I am making it right because I think I am but it’s actually tastes really good, just like lemonade only with a kick. I wasn’t sure if that’s right. I had my first extraction today because of the herbal tea. I am trying to hold out for 15 days but not sure if i’ll make it. I will do 10 for sure. I have been working out, and have felt fine, almost a little more energized except for today. I am having a hard time getting through. Any advice?

Hello everyone, Day 7 and I am cold. I am falling in love with my electric blanket.:)
I am doing better drinking the lemonade today. Next time I try this I’m going to use the psyllium husk as well. Well I have more energy today, mentally also. I will be glad when I get to day 10, but I might try for 15 days. So you know I must be feeling better. Keep up the good work.

Congratulations to everyone that is still hanging in there. Even though I finished my cleanse on Sunday, I’ve been interested in keeping up with everyone else that is still on their journey.

    Lily,
Sounds like you have great will power and determination and congrats on buying smaller clothes already. Doesn’t it feel great!! So keep on keeping on. I didn’t use the salt for elimations during the cleanse. Mainly, because I never got to a store to purchase it. But, what I did was 6 oz. of the herbal laxitvie tea every night before bedtime and then again each morning for 10 days. Having the abnormal bowel momevements that I always have, I never had any major eliminations during the cleanse, but I would have a bm at least once a day and sometimes twice while on the cleanse. So that was major for me and you, I guess, but wouldn’t be for others. This is day 3 for me being off the cleanse and I wanted to give you and anyone else interested a tip on what I’ve been doing now that my cleanse is finished and it’s working GREAT!!! I have been still drinking alot of water (at least 64 oz. per day) and eating a nice size salad (lettuce and carrots only) with fat free Italian Dressing for lunch. Then, in the evening, I had been eating whatever I am cooking for my family, but about 1/3 portions of what I would before doing the cleanse. I did not have a bm on Mon. or Tues. after the cleanse. So I ate about 7 pitted prunes last night and the about 5 more around lunch time with plenty of water. I have eliminated 4 times so far today. WOW!!! I’m not sure if this is a temporary fix and my body will adjust to the combination of the salads, prunes and water and the elimations won’t continue to be this much or even daily. But, I plan to continue the prunes and extra water in my everyday diet as long as I’m having eliminations like this. PS I have tried prunes before to help with my irregular bm but it never helped…..Good luck and I’ll keep checking in to see how everyone is doing on the final days.

Hi Everyone! Looks like there aren’t as many comments today. It’s Day 6 for me. I still can’t believe I’m doing this. I used to eat so much out of boredom and habit, that its really different having all this time not preparing or eating food. I’m accustomed to making 1,2, even 3 stops at fast food restaraunts after work. I really don’t want to fall back into that habit. I’m not as famished today. I’m really looking forward to being free of joint pain and I really hope to see the protruding stomach shrink some. I’m a little concerned about being around all the food on the upcoming holidays. I pray I can hold out because at 269.5 lbs (well now its 264) I really really need to do the extended version of this cleansing. I want to do the 21 days, then gradually begin to eat healthily. You guys encourage me! Thanks!

It’s day 8 for me–two days to go! I’ve been pretty tired today, which probably has less to do with the cleanse and more to do with the fact that I got in at 2 am this morning from a seminar. I don’t have as much energy as I did over the weekend. I also woke up with swollen eyes and a dull headache that I’ve had all day–don’t know if these symptoms are pollen or cleanse related.

So far today, I’ve only had 32 oz of lemonade, plus some water. I haven’t been hungry. I’m going to make myself some more lemonade now. I’ve only lost about 3 pounds in 8 days and I’m not even using the full amount of maple syrup the recipe calls for. I didn’t do the cleanse to lose weight, but I did expect to lose a few more pounds than that. I’m truly amazed at how few calories our bodies need to function.

I’ve been following the the original cleanse protocol pretty strictly–laxative tea at night, swf in the a.m. and lemonade, peppermint tea and water throughout the day. I’m still eliminating regularly in the morning and feeling lightheaded upon rising.

Thank you to all who are sharing experiences from “life after the cleanse.” I’d be intersted to learn more about how everyone is going to transition off the cleanse–are you going to do orange juice for a day, the vegetable broth, then vegetables and salad?

It’s a tough weekend to come off the cleanse, isn’t it? It’ll take lots of self-discipline not to grab a handful of jelly beans from my kids’ Easter baskets on Sunday morning!

    Hooray for us!!

    Hi all -
Tammy thanks for all you kind and encouraging words and also for making me laugh (I too was using prunes and they stopped working as well, lol)
And I agree, it is going to be very hard this weekend to be around food and candy but I am going to stick it out - I actually had bags and bags of candy on my lap today as I filled plastic eggs and baskets for my nieces and nephews and did not eat one - yea me!!
Took my tea - going to bed. Good night all!!

I feel different that’s for sure. I was having legs cramps that are now gone. My skin is also lighter. I feel happier and more focused. I’m an RN, I do homehealth so I sit for 12 hours. But the detox keeps my sanity. So good luck to us all. I really feel grateful to have you guys.

Hello, I wasn’t able to start the cleanse with you on last week, but however I did start today. With a very busy weekend, I’m already tired before acutally starting. I have to keep telling myself, I can make it for the 10 days. This is my second time doing the cleanse. The first time I did it was just before Thanksgiving and I lost 17 pounds. People that I saw durning the summer notice the weight lost and it encouranged me to keep it off.

  14. jennifer on February 20, 2008 6:46 pm

This is day one for me going to work and smelling food and coffee all da was tough. I did the SWF this morning I did not get results until 2-3 hours later and there wasn’t much waste, although I ate plenty the night before. I don’t think I’m going to make it 9 more days. I am not hungry but food keeps coming to mind.
