The Secret is Not Really a Secret
Mar 3rd, 2007 by Raylen
I see a few comments about “The Secret” on the blog, and requesting more information about it. I ordered The Secret DVD a few months ago, and while I found it inspirational I really wasn’t blown away by The Secret.
Fast forward to today, and The Secret has taken off. It’s on the best sellers list, and it’s gotten people who might not otherwise take a interest in this type a material to at least give it try. For that I think The Secret deserves a lot of credit. My life has benefited greatly from personal development books and courses, and whenever I start to feel stress and negativity creep into my life it’s because I’m violating the fundamental principals I’ve learned in these books.
What’s the secret of The Secret?
The secret is what most people call the law of attraction. Basically, what you consistently think about you will attract into your life.
If your mind is occupied with negative thoughts from the time you wake up to the time you go to bed then negativity is what you’ll attract into your life.
The opposite of that, and the underlying message of The Secret is that if you focus on positive things then you’ll attract positive thing into your life. Simple enough right.
Does the law of attraction work? I think so. We’ve all met gloomy people who always expect the worst, and never believe good things will happen to them and more often then not life keeps dealing them a rotten hand.
What The Secret Doesn’t Tell You…
Banishing negativity, and focusing on positive thoughts will only help so much. If you watch The Secret they would have you believe that you can attract anything you desire by simply wishing for it. This is where I don’t agree with The Secret.
Nothing happens until you take action. You can’t expect the universe to drop wealth, or good health into your lap without some effort on your part - The Secret doesn’t emphasize this at all.
I think The Secrets greatest accomplishment is the way it’s marketed. Friends of mine who’ve never expressed any interest in personal development ask me about The Secret all the time. I tell them it’s worth buying because it is inspirational, but in my opinion you’re much better off studying the works of people like Wayne Dyer and Tony Robbins.
If you want to start making big changes in your life right now I have a short story called “The Magic Story” which I sent out to my newsletter subscribers over the Holidays that you might find helpful. You can get a copy of that by going to http://mastercleansesecrets.com/blog/master-cleanse/late-christmas-present-from-raylen/8/
That story is over 100 years old so the language is a little old world, but the message is as helpful today as it was back then.

Don’t forget Bob Proctor, he’s the first guy in the movie. And is very, very influential. His “You Were Born Rich” progam is a world success.
This is definitely worth exploring to find out if it can be real in my own life. I will buy the dvd today, watch it, and then make my decision.
People miss the point. True blessings come from God. In Psalm 139, King David writes concerning the Lord, “You know my sitting down and my rising up; You understand my thought afar off. You comprehend my path and my lying down, and are acquainted with all my ways.” People sometimes forget that God sees all and knows everything about each one of us. If He chooses to bless us, that is awesome. If we include Him in our life, He can do exceedingly more than we could even imagine. Don’t leave Him out of the picture.
Of course you have to take action. I think you have missed the point of the video, what its basically saying is, if you want something badly, thinking about it enough will make your butt move to get it. When they say that the universe will shape itself, what that means is that opportunites will arise for you, and whether you realise it or not, that is the time to take action. There is one quantum guy on there that says “im not talking about wishful thinking” etc… but more on a deeper level. And people reading this it actualy works, it was working for me before I even saw the secret. Basically its common sense.
