Keeping Your New Year Resolutions

by Raylen on December 29, 2008

As 2008 winds to a close I was thinking about how I could help everyone who reads this blog start 2009 off on the right foot, and I think I came up with something you’ll enjoy.

It’s no secret that most New Years resolutions are health related. After all the New Year represents a fresh start and a chance to change the things about yourself you might not be happy with. That could mean shedding a few pounds, eating healthier, or getting rid of some bad habits you might have.

It’s out with the old and in with the new!

But those pesky old habits can be a real devil to get rid of which is why most New Years resolutions don’t stick.

This is what I want to help you with…

As you probably know by now I’m a big fan of the Master Cleanse. I don’t know of any other diet that can do what the Master Cleanse does in such a short period of time. You can literally transform yourself in 10 days, and whether you’re looking to lose weight, break a junk food addiction, clear up your skin, or just feel better and more alive the Master Cleanse can help.

So starting Jan 1. I want to invite you to join me and we can do the Master Cleanse together.

I will make daily posts to this blog and everyone who wants to join in can use the comments section to share their progress as well.

I’ll be following the system I published in my Master Cleanse Secrets ebook so I’m already getting myself mentally prepared for Jan 1 (getting yourself in the proper frame of mind is an important, and often overlooked part of the Master Cleanse). I’ll also be doing the 3 day easing in process I share in the book to help avoid headaches and other side effects by gently transitioning into the cleanse.

There’s never a perfect time to start the Master Cleanse, and it’s easy to find some sort of excuse not to do it, but I think the start of the new year is about the best time you ask for. I also know that having a support group can be a huge help which is why I’ll be sharing my progress right here on this blog, and I encourage you to join in and do the same.

Sound like fun?

Let me know if you’re interested by posting a comment below and I’ll be back with an update tomorrow.

Hi,
I’m up for a cleasing starting Jan 2nd. I’ve tried before and never get past the 3rd day. I think I just need to be motivated and need more willpower. Thanks

I’m starting the cleanse tomorrow. I am a little nervous because I’m in Vancouver and it’s very cold here. Any tips on how to stay warm during a cleanse? Otherwise, can’t wait. I’ve had IBS since I was very young and fasting always feels wonderful!

Monique January 1, 2009 at 8:30 pm

Hey, enjoyed reading how many people I will be joining as I start my cleanse on the 5th! I did the cleanse in September, and after suffering headaches the first two days, I felt wonderful and lasted 9 days. I look forward to doing 30 days this time. My prayers are with you all!!

Aura January 1, 2009 at 10:05 pm

I will start on Monday 1/5/09 due to heavy work schedule this week. I did this cleanse two years ago with another friend and we kept each other motivated. I’ve tried to do it again but cannot make it past day 5! But New Year means new ME and the new ME can do it alone! Good luck to everyone and wish me luck.

Tara January 1, 2009 at 11:36 pm

I would like to start the M.C in which I’ve done this before however I was on vacation at that time and it work out for me that way. How would that work for my schedule working 1st shift? 7-3 mainly.

what is your best advice for working while on the cleanse?

Thank you Tara

Wow! completed day #1 and can’t believe it but lost 5.2lbs. wieighed in this morning at 170.6. I was very structured with my lemonaid drinks drank at 10,12,2,4.6,8pm so 6 drinks total, one every 2 hrs. and water inbetween so I had 1/2 gallon of lemonaid and 1/2gallon of water. I do the program ala carte. My lemonaid consists of lemon and stevia to sweeten, then I take a capsule of ceyenne pepper (500mg) separate and I take 1 T. Blackstrap Unsulfured mollasses instead of the maple syrup by the spoonful. Every 2 hrs. I do that. Then I excersised 9am, 2pm, 7pm, for 10min. (5 hrs in between excersising ) I just keep up the drinks so I don’t get hungry. I’m feeling great! I’ll write in tomorrow and tell you how much I lost.

Sharon January 2, 2009 at 10:48 am

Yes! I’m in. I have been looking forward to a New Years MC. The last one I did was very successful – 14 days, a year and a half ago. I’ve been doing (almost) weekly 24 hour water fasts since mid November. I will be ready to begin Monday, January 12th. I have a raw food presentation scheduled for the 9th so I shouldn’t start until after that. Thanks for this support!

Darrell January 2, 2009 at 1:28 pm

Raylen, thanks for the invite and support.
My start date for the diet is Mon. 05, 2009. I will be buying supplies and using the weekend to get in the frame of mind that I need to be in for the whole 10 days. I have done the diet before and it is always a challenge for me, but with your support I will make sure I get all the benifits the diet offers.

thanks again, Darrell

Marilyn January 2, 2009 at 4:13 pm

Hey Anne: Good luck! YOU CAN DO IT!!!

Question for Love-n-it (or anyone else w/MC knowledge): You have done this before. I have a question re: the SWF. I have “experimented” twice recently with this part of the cleanse just to see how that goes. It’s AWFUL!!!! I’m wondering, do you (or anyone else) think it would be a bad idea to take the salt in a small amount of water in order to get it down quick and then chase it with the remainder of the quart of water? Do you think it would hurt anything to get it down that way? I think I could “stomach” it better if I would just “chug” it that way. What do you think?

Ashaki99 January 2, 2009 at 7:29 pm

I startarted today 2nd Jan ‘09. Looking very forward to the end of 10 days for the results. Today went fairly well. Did my best not to focus on anything else but the benefits of getting through with this MC successfully. Only one thing I really wished there was immediate responses to the many Qs asked on this blog. It would save a lot of stress and repeat Qs, but grateful all the same for the opportunity to post.

Diane January 3, 2009 at 10:34 am

Hi
I started Jan. 1st but today is the 3rd day and I just didn’t have time to post. I feel great. This is my 3rd master cleanse. I feel so good after doing them. The first 2 days I expelled alot of mucus. I even had a dinner party at my house Jan 1st the 1st day and weathered it fine. I did it a full 10 days the first 2 times and weaned back to food by the 14th day I am hoping to make it that long this time. I return to work on the 5th day of the cleanse. That is where it gets challenging for me. Wish me luck. Good luck to all and Happy New Year to all….Diane :)

Jean January 3, 2009 at 6:23 pm

Yes, I’ll be starting on January 5th. I have done it before and went for 14 days. I felt great and did lose weight. I kept it off for several months before starting back into old eating habits and then regained most of what I lost. This time, I want to form good eating habits afterwards for life.

Cal January 3, 2009 at 10:52 pm

Stephanie January 6, 2009 at 11:30 am

I’m on day 4 and feeling great! This is my second time to do the cleanse and I must say that it’s so much better this time. I think the difference is that I took a regular over the counter laxitive last time and now I’m using the tea. It’s much better. Also, I use Crystal Light to make it taste better! I have worked out everyday and haven’t cheated- so far I’ve lost 7 pounds. My goal is to lose 20 and keep it off for good! Good Luck everyone!

Pat January 7, 2009 at 10:31 am

I have been thinking about doing this for the last few months. I have finally started. Wednesday the 7th is day one I hope to gain all the benifits i have read about.

I’m on day two of the cleanse. I am exhausted and having trouble concentrating. Is this a common experience?

kim February 11, 2009 at 2:04 pm

Today is my 3rd day on the mc,i have a headache i hope it stops.I would love to do the full 10 days.

Peaches June 2, 2009 at 6:43 am

I would like to start the MC. I am a 44 yr old single mother of two daughter ages 15 & 20. I need to get rid of some pounds. You really can’t eat anything while on the MC. How do you pre-cleanse before starting. Could anyone answer that question. I plan on getting the book today.

thanks
