I started the fast and lasted 54 hours but blew it by being near the refrigerator full of food. I will try it again tomorrow. I am 57 years old and I run a few times a week, does anyone know if this could be dangerous to over exercise while on the cleansing fast?

When you do the Master Cleanse a lot of waste that was previously trapt inside your body will be circulating around as the cleansing process starts to work.
This takes a toll on your body, and is a big reason you get aches and feel fatigued while doing the master cleanse. Doing vigorous exercise will only put more stress on your body.
I would avoid intense cardio workouts and weight lifting while doing the cleanse, especially if you’re doing it for 10+ days.
This doesn’t mean you should stay welded to the couch. It’s good to move around, just don’t push yourself too hard. I like to go for a walk or a light jog, do yoga, and ride my bike when I’m on the master cleanse.
Keep in mind that what one person considers an intense workout might be effortless to another. So if you’re a experienced runner going for a jog while you’re on the cleanse should be fine, but if you’re out of shape jogging might be too much for you to handle.
There is no one rule that fits every person when it comes to exercising and the master cleanse. Just remember to pay attention to your body, and don’t push yourself too hard.

Day 5! I feel very confident and my post-babybump is looking good. Others have commented on my high energy, too! My legs and arms ached a bit, so I am easing up on exercising. I plan to detox for 5 more days after this, hopefully more since spring break is here. I like the cayenne pepper, the burn in my tummy feels grand. The lemonade tastes great with extra lemon in it, (like 1-2 extra spoons of lemon.) Ok well, carry on and do well everyone.
Yea i agree, also hot non-caffeinated tea really helped me as well with headaches from caffeine withdrawals.

I have a swim day today too! I actually felt really good after swimming yesterday, even on the MC. I thought i was going to feel dizzy or something, but i took it easy and it felt great after

Caffeine withdrawals are common, and usually go away after the first couple days. Hot, or in some cases cold, showers help with headaches, especially if you have an adjustable shower head that lets you narrow the water down to a concentrated stream that you can direct towards the trouble spot on your head.
Ive just started the cleanse today, I feel great I can beleive how many times I have already been to the toilet and its only 1pm
I feel a headache coming on!! Im hoping to loose a little bit of weight but im doing it mostly to cleanse my body… after my natropath suggested a cleanse to help with my sleep issues… I currently walk 3 days a week for 5km so im going to keep that up and I also ride my horse everyday…. My boss thinks ive one mad because lately I have started doing squats and stretches in front of my work computer (only been busted by a customer once) I think these blogs are great and I cant wait to see how I feel in 14 days

Hi. Half way through day two. I was 149 and now im 145.6. Not very hungry, and I should note that I am not doing any salt water flushes. Rather, i drank a Traditional Medicinal tea called smooth move yesterday. I probably wont be doing that everyday.

Starting second day of cleanse,I am doing this not to lose weight but to remove toxins from my body. I feel good no hunger pangs,today i plan on removing all clutter from my closet.This will keep my mind occupied and i will be doing something i’ve put off for years!
My wife and I are at the end of day one… I’m measuring in at 274lbs and want a goal weight of about 240. Good luck to all..
Btw, i plan on continuing my heart rate training not to exceed zone 2 for as long as I can muster, tonight is swim night!

Im on day 3 of the MC and I feel great. My only problem is i cant do the salt water flush will i get the same results.
Just found this site/blog and it is very encouraging and motivating to read the progress that everyone has made. I finally had enough of my ballooning weight and decided it was time to get real and do something about it. I gave up drinking soda 6.5 years ago, and I was addicted to soda like most are addicted to coffee, cigarettes, etc. I figure if I could do that then anything was possible. After doing thorough research I decided I would give the MC a try.
I’m 28 years old and I would like to see at least another 28 years, so I am doing something about my weight. I started on 3/2/13 and weighed 241.4 lbs (I’m 5″10) and as of today I am 236.2 ( I still need to have my laxative tea before bed). My goal is to get to 190. I plan on doing the MC for 32 days (unless I get to my target weight before then). If I do not get to 190 then I will lose the remaining weight by eating smaller portions, more fruits and more cardio on my treadmill. Much success to everyone. If you believe it you can achieve it.
Today is my Day 1 on the MC. I am very exited and motivated this time as i had tried before and lasted 3 days, this time – I HAVE THE BULL BY THE HORNS-and i am not lettting him go, lololo:) , one thing that helps alot is meditation and walks. Yes Miss ,, WE CAN DO IT,, 1 day at a time

Today I am starting the Master Cleanse!!! I am very excited. I hope I can stay focused. I have started a journal to help me on my journey. This is so I can remind myself what I am work for. I wish I know about the Master Cleanse 3 yrs ago when I was getting married. Well hopefully this will help with my PCOS and possible diabetes. To everyone out there WE CAN DO IT !! By June I should be about 60 lbs lighter.
And if salt water taste bad – drink laxative tea morning and evening.
I have done MC many many times. Love it!! For those who don’t know this – you can substitute cayenne pepper powder with pills. One per glass.
It makes a huge difference for me!
This makes day 1 of my Master Cleanse. I will be drinking my salt water laxative in about 2 hours because I will be out during the day. I’m excited and disappointed that I won’t be able to eat but in the end I think that it will be worth it. I am 23 years old and I am 5 feet 1 inches tall and I weigh 230 lbs. So it is time to take charge my life and my body. This is just the beginning of my weightloss journey. I just want to do the mc to cleanse my body and if I lose weight in the process that is a plus. I’m on my 1st day and I feel ok. It’s only 3:30pm and I’ve already had 3 bowel movements…I will be working out tonight and see how it goes. I’ve tried the MC once before but only lasted for 2 days. I am trying to complete 7-10 days. I am trying to detox my body of all the fuckery I’ve consumed. I am 23 years old and weigh 206 pounds. I am 5’3. I will be checking back in, in a couple of days and letting you all know my progress…STAY MOTIVATED!
U I’m 5’2, 23 years old, and 140 pounds. I really want to do this. I feel really nervous about it, but I’m going to try to power through. I really need to acquire better eating habits and a better lifestyle. I feel so appalled with my weight right now, because this is the biggest I’ve ever been. I’m ready to make this change, and make it stick. I plan on doing light cardio, walking on treadmill at an incline. And doing some toning exercises like working on abs, legs and arms. I’m used to high activities, but my eating has spun me out of control. I’ve never done the Master Cleanse before, so I’m gonna take it a little easy with the workouts while cleansing, and adjust if I need to. My goal weight is 120 lbs. Wish me luck! On day 2 on the MC …Feel great ! The first day was tough …but I have powered through..day 2 seems a bit easier…my concern is the flush ..am I drinking enough of it and am I putting the right amount of salt in..guess my body will tell me soon enough ! No signs of weakness yet…lots of energy so far
after getting through the first 24 hours, I have no doubt I can make it the whole way and then some..
I just finished my 6th day and lost over 7lb already and I am so happy & can not wait to get my pre kids weight. I have got 19lb more to loose, but not all at one course of cleansing. So far i feel good I might stay few more days this time.

I am planning to start the MC program but i have question in regards of the flush, can i make the salt and water enough to refrigerated to have for the next day?? how much of the flush do i take in the morning and bed time?

has gone down. The salt water really cleanse you out I had 22 bowel movement
thus far. I drink the flush in the mornings about 2 hr before work
so it could pass and once at work I’m fine until the next
flush. Your body will be so happy for the cleanse and you will
feel great. I drink 6-9 lemonade a day and it get

I have done the MC before I was not able to hold it for 10 days I started it again and this time my will power is stronger as I am doing the insanity work out looking to have great results. And make my body reset with its fast metabolism as when I was younger haha instead of my 31 age.
@ Leelee, Im also on the MC. Day 4 and already lost about 11 pounds. I think I could lose more if I stop taking showers and baths and wash at the sink instead. The baths and showers causes your body to soak up more water (opposite of what we’re trying to do). I’m drinking a glass of the MC receipe at breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I sip in between if I need to. I was replacing honey with maple until I read a post that said not to do that. I think the honey was causing my sugar to go high and then down (causing a crash and a fast heartbeat at times). I have tried to exercise, but feel too weak during the exercises. I have not had a bowel movement yet, but also have not drunk the salt water receipe yet (had it before its gross, but works).
Day 3! Lost 4 pounds and feeling good. Whenever I get hungry I take a sig or two or three or a glass or two of lemonade then/and sometimes I walk my dogs. I don’t
watch TV anymore because that makes me hungry. I stay busy and active and that helps..
I am motivated! I will make it 10 days then decide if I can go further…
Its my 2nd day on the MC…i drink herbal hot tea thru out the day to cut the hunger pains in between the ” lemonade drink”… i feel differently from moment to moment. Ive had my fair share of emotions..cramps and shear hunger plus weakness. I agree with the above person who stated that they read the blogs and the mastercleanse website for motivation, i do the same. Good luck too all on this!!!!
ps..working out is not an option FOR ME during this process…i feel too weak.
So what is the difference between the Master Cleanse and Juice Fasting? The Juice Diet Blog above said it was preferable to do a juice cleanse, now I am confused. Aren’t they the same thing??

Hi there, I want to start the MC but I’m concerned about a few things. I ride horses for about 2 hours each day and I do not want to become too weak for this, will this be too hard on my body? Also, once off the MC will I gain all of my weight back? How do I keep it off? Last thing… I am 16, is that too young to take on the MC? I am home-schooled so I am not worried about classmates or teachers worrying about me. My mom has done this cleanse before. Thanks!

I will be starting the MC DIET for the first time on the 1st. And im looking to make a change in my life. I had breast reduction resently,Since then I have lost so much confidence in myself and my personal apperence.My breast made me stand out!! So I thought. Now that those big boobies are gone I have all this other stuff to look at….And I don’t like it at all.So a friend told me that I should try the Master Cleanse Diet…it worked for her.I have been over weight for about 15 years and It has gotten old. I will be 50 years old this March and I want to be in the best health and shape of my life. From now on…..I went form fabulous to fat and it time to go back home to FABULOUS town…..Once im done with this I plan on trying it for 10 days then going on to 30 days . my goal is tp lose…….up to 80 lbs total with hard work and excerise….maybe HCG TOO!!!!!

I just ordered my MC kit today and I’m excited to start it. I hope to start seeing the changes happen quickly. Where does most of the weight shed off from? I want to lose inches off my waist and lose some thighs.
Day 21 here and feeling amazing. My only advise would be to stick to the plan and remember WHY you are doing the cleanse in the first place. If your reasons are pure, you will not have any issues. If, however, you don’t change with the cleanse, you are bound to have problems. I do run in the evenings, but have managed to overdo It a few times…no fun! Just do what feels comfortable… Wish everyone great success!

have not been hungry since I started the mc I been feeling good but my back has been hurting a lil & I get a little weak at times but other than that I like being on this cleanse BTW Im 22 years old I’m trying to loose 40 pounds within the next 2 months any suggestions?
End of my first day on the mc. Feeling good besides a light headache from caffeine withdrawal but I expected that. I made the mistake of making a big batch to last thru the day. Do NOT do that! The cayenne seeps like tea and will get very spicy. Wanted to make sure I can still do light exercise. Thanks for the info!

Im starting this weekend. Im a little nervous about the bowlovements because of my job but im excited. Im 26 and want to start a healrhy life style but overall need to lise weight for the prt. Im teying tuba diet now.

I started the master cleanse diet Friday, August 12. I’ve lost 13 pounds already and I can feel it. My goal is to lose another 37 pounds in the next 21 days. I’m sure I will lose it plus some if I need to. I do light exercises, just some sit-ups and walking. I also stretch and meditate. Nothing extraneous!
I am starting the MC this Sunday. I can’t wait!

I’m starting the master cleanse tomorrow morning and I want to make sure I do this right, I’m hoping to loose 20 pounds in 10 days. Is it ok to drink green tea in the mornings about a half hour after the salt water flush? and would laxative pills have the same effect as the laxative tea?
