It’s always fun and inspirational to read about other people success with the master cleanse. Here’s a success story a reader shared on this blog. Please feel free to share yours in the comments section.
Hi all! I’m on my last day (day 10) of the cleanse and it was difficult for me with the cravings but I made sure to eliminate all food from my apartment before starting this. Otherwise, I’m 100% positively sure that I would’ve broken down. I have lost a significant amount of weight though. I started out at 198 lbs. and this morning I weighed 182 lbs so a total of 16 lbs. in 10 days. I know that I’m supposed to gain about half of that back but I’m not worried about that at all. For the first time in almost a year I’ve began exercising again so as long as I continue to move and eat healthy (portion control, calorie intake & the right foods) then I should be able to keep losing weight. I think it helped that I exercised about 4 times last week. Right now I’m just proud of myself for having accomplished the 10 days on the cleanse. My tongue is pink again, I have more energy than I did before, I went down from a size 14 to a 12, my skin is clear & glowing, the appearance of cellulite has gone down on my arms and legs and I truly desire eating vegetables. I’m so looking forward to tearing up that vegetable soup in 2 days! Overall, I would say that the cleanse works and if you stick to it religiously then there shouldn’t be any difficulties. Good luck for those that just started. Just hang in there. Trust me it’s worth it. You’re worth it!

Great to hear another success story. This just goes on to prove that the master cleanse is not just another fad diet.
Hi, I’m going into my 30 some odd hour of the master cleanse and its pretty amazing how intense the cleanse is. Drink lots of water and keep lemons on hand. Grade of syrup will make or break you on this one. Im going for fourteen days. people have done 45 before so I feel its a good balance. I wonder if its a good idea to eat alot before going into this? any thoughts on that? I would recomend this to anyone needing a full mind and body reboot.
This is day ten off my cleanse. I have lost about 12 pounds, 3 inches off my waist and 4 inches off my stomach. I have more energy and
feel better. I never had trouble with hunger (which I was amazed).
I am addicted to pop and fast food and want to break that., and I teach Foods, so I am around food all day. My question is I am still experiencing some headaches and my tongue is still coated. Should I continue on with the cleanse?
Thanks,
Susie
Im’ on my second day of the master cleanse and it is a bit difficult. I was okay the morning of the first day, but late night i began to crave for food. I’m at the second day now, and feeling okay.
This is the third time I am doing the cleanse, and I am actually excited about it. The two previous times, when I got to the tenth day I said I would never do the cleanse again. I know how good I felt after the cleanse though, so that is why I am back at it. I look forward to the heightened sense of smell & taste once I am done with the cleanse. I also want to get back to my “racing shape” of 158-160 lbs. Prepared myself mentally a week prior to doing this, so hopefully I won’t have a rough go at it. Got good support also because my wife is cleansing with me. Still got to cook for the kids though… at least we can smell the food! Day one: Salt water flush done, I feel like half the battle is done for this day. HATE this part of it.ewwwwwwwwwwwww! 168lbs.
161lbs. Day two was weird. I think it was because of my sleep being interrupted @3:30 a.m by my sick son ,then having to wake for work @4:30a.m to do the salt water wash… probably why I am so tired right now. I napped for 15 min. at lunch time and felt strong throughout the day (I do plaster work) . Can’t wait til this is over. Day 2 done! Going to bed NOW!!!
The Master Cleanse is one of the most brutal body cleanse methods but it’s also the most rewarding. Hang in there!
First day on the Master Cleanse!! I have to admit I thought it would be brutal for me, but it wasn’t.!! Tried the SWF, but didn’t work for me! I think I will try the laxative tea! Drank 64oz of lemonade while here at work. Even made it through a birthday celebration with chocolate cake. When I felt hungry I drank the lemonade, cravings were gone. I also filled up with water and decaf mint tea. Can’t wait until Day 2!! Good luck everyone!!
Hi it is my first time on here, I am so glad to see you all doing the Master Cleanse as well! I do it every 6 months (sometimes with smaller fasts in between) for the past 7 years. I started on 10 days and moved up to 14 days and now I am on day 2 and am hoping to conquer a personal 20 day goal. i love doing this fast, the affects are amazing, although I must admit a have done it a few times for vain reasons such as losing weight to look great for a trip. But I feel now like I know when I am ready, If feel sluggish and dull within a few hours of waking up which means my body needs to be recharged!! I have also learned to listen to my body, I tried fasting and on day 2 I knew something was going on, my body did not want me to do the fast, and sure enough I was pregnant (surprise) so always remember to pay attention, your body will tell you what it needs. There has also been a few times I was feeling especially weak so a made a 10 oz. cup of fresh carrot juice or fresh green juice and it took care of it. I know now it was because I wasn’t getting enough vitamins before I started. So good luck to all of you and always keep in mind that on this fast you will have a lot of ups and downs, it is normal and it is the effects of your body getting rid of all the toxins you put into it, so stay strong it will pass and be sure to plan for a few hours extra sleep a night your body is doing a lot of work and needs the extra rest!!
