The Master Cleanse and Weight Loss

The most common questions I get on this blog are about the master cleanse and weight loss so I thought I would take a minute and answer some of those today. I was going through these blogs. Suddenly a question came in my mind…I want to try MC specifically for the weight loss..but one of the blogs says that it is temporary.we really need to work out to loose weight.is it a reality that the weight loss is temporary in this case as i am not fatty i just want to loose weight from hip and the waist line as i have developed flabs….so please help.

While you can lose a significant amount of weight on the master cleanse, and keep most of it off (you’ll gain back some water weight) the real weight loss benefits come after you finish the master cleanse. Most people will find that they no longer consume as much food as they did prior to the master cleanse, and the food they do crave is usually much healthier.

I am interested in the cleanse for removal of toxins and NOT for weight. loss. I have always been thin with a high metabolism. I don’t want to lose wt. is the master cleanse still for me? I am worried about doing it for 10 days straight, not only for convenience factors but because my metabolism is unusual and i don’t want to lose weight or wind up feeling faint, etc., especially when I’m working.

this is my first time on this diet and my 3rd day will be on wednesday i have not had a bowel movement yet is this normal?

It is normal. People have different reactions sometimes. Anything from diarrhea to constipation is normal. In any case, you need to eliminate–> Just take an herbal laxative. They work good.

Hi David! you are very helpful! I read your whole thread and oh boy I feel so encouraged! I am on my 2nd day… and I want to finish it till the 10th day. I am staying away from eating out… and I have turn down parties for this weekend in that way I will not have any temptations. I try to do other things on my lunch break since the smell of the food from our lunch room is torture to me.

I hope to keep this up. And thank you for putting your time sharing what you know.

Working out vigorously for 4-5 days a week i sustained an injury and must remain inactive for two weeks :( So what’s more of a reason do I need to take time to get to know my worth….master cleanse will allow me the opportunity to stay committed and focused on my health and cleanse out the impurities that no workout can eliminate. I begin the MC tonight starting with a cup of Smooth Move…tomorrow morning my new life begins. I hope to accomplish more than achieving the 10 day cleanse but I also hope to regain my self worth, clarity, and a better understanding of eating clean! Finally, like many I would also hope to achieve some weight loss goals (10 pounds) in order to improve on speed and agility during workouts!

It doesn’t seem that I have a full understanding, this master cleanse only works if you do it for ten days, without eating at all? Just drinking the cleanser? Please help

I am on my 3rd day and I lost 3.5 pounds already. It is amazing. But the diet is so hard to follow. It nauseates me to think of the salt water, and I’m getting bored of the lime juice. But it doesn’t matter to me when i think of all the weight i could lose in the 10 day span. Just to imagine that i lost 3.5 pounds in 2 days is amazing. I hope i can complete it successfully. The hardest thing is, when i cook for my husband. The smell kills me. But everything is worth the weight lost. Because i fight so hard to shed weight, i don’t dream of eating pizza or enchiladas anymore. On the other hand, it scares me to eat all that cheese…to think all this pain would be lost by some cheap fatty food. Nah. I think I’l overcome my cravings for fastfood.

I have been reading a lot about the master cleanse diet before i try it. Im am waiting for a monday this monday infact! I am very excited to try something new that has so many great results an sounds amazingly healthly for you an completely turns your cravings for healthy food around. I want to take on this cleansing challenge again. In Dec 2007 my mom put me on this diet but i didn’t last 2 days. I was 130 then, now i’m nearly 10 lbs heavier and i want to lose 25 lbs because my BMI is too high.
I plan to start on Aug 1st!! Wish me luck, i will let u know how it goes on Aug 10th.

I have never done the Master Cleanse for days on end ,but I do take One table spoon of maple syrup, One tablespoon of organic fresh squeezed lemon juice, and a1/2 tablespoon cayenne pepper 90.000, every day in the morning. I feel fantastic and no pains or ackes in my bones. I also take Immune 7, from Purica, and drink chloraphyl in the water I drink

I am on Day ONE, and thinking about food all day!My boyfriend is also doing the cleanse. He’s feeling tired, and watching a food show for the last couple hours, which may be wearing his salivary glands out thus contributing to his lethargy. Please give me some support. maureen white

I think people should stop focusing on the weight loss part of this and stop calling it a dieat because that’s not the main purpose of this cleanse. The purpose is the cleansing part. When you add the “and Weight Loss” or use the term “diet” as it has been called for some years now, it takes away from the cleanse. This is not a diet. This is not a weight loss program.
