New Year Master Cleanse Day 1

by Raylen on January 1, 2009

I hope you all had a good New Years eve and didn’t party too hard. Today is the first day of New Year master cleanse and so far so good.

I personally don’t keep junk food in my house, but if you do you’ll want to get rid of that because you’ll find as you do the cleanse the temptation to snack can be overwhelming at times.

There’s not much to report so far as it’s only a couple hours into the cleanse. I’m on my 3rd glass of lemonade (here’s the lemonade recipe) and have also had 3 glasses of water.

If you’re joining in the cleanse feel free to jump in and share your thoughts in the comments section (if you can’t see the comments below this post click the title link at the top of this post called “New Year Master Cleanse Day 1″)

Day 1 (7pm): My very first Master Cleanse – I’m working on my 7th glass of lemonade and 8th glass of water and a couple cups of tea. I felt hungry between 12noon to 2pm but was able to ignore it. However, the salt water flush in the morning was brutal.

I tried it yesterday–i drank the 30oz of filtered water with 2 tbsp of salt bottoms up and i threw it all up. Today, I sipped it slowly and was able to retain most of it–i still threw up some tho and only manage to drank 25oz. Good news is I felt the effect of it as described so I guess this is good.

I hope I’ll have the same strength on Day 2.

Good Day here … got 4 glasses of lemonade down and lots of water … not hungry but I have had the flu for the past 4 days. I have my journal and weight/excercise chart set up to log my process.
Feelin pretty good, Day 1 complete!

This is my second time doing the cleanse. I am sipping my salted water now. A trick I found incredibly useful is to heat the water and add the salt. Drink it like you do tea. It kind of tastes a little like broth to me. I could NOT get the salt water down cold. Anyway, today is my first day (Jan. 2). I am planning to do 10 days, I made it last time and I hope I can again. It is a great way to start out the new year. Good luck everyone!!

I am glad I found this. I am also starting on Monday. I figured being at work and away from food will help me be even more successful. This is my first cleanse and I am eager to start. I am planning to do 10 days. Any pointers to a newbie is great.

Ok. I am excited. I will be starting 2night with my senna tea and starting my lemonade in the A.M. I have done this before and loved the results. I only lasted with 3 full days. This got to hard due to the headaches and the shakiness that I had to deal with so I ended up drinking lemonade during the day, lots of h20. At night only when I was REALLY shaky and irratable I ate an half an apple or half a red pepper with vinegar. I have to tell you I did this for a month and felt great. I lost 10 lbs and was able to keep it off for 2 years. Now I am back to get rid of them a again. Is there anything I can do about the headaches and shakiness. I think I am hyperglycemic so increasing the maple syrup won’t work. tried that. Anyhow, I ready to start. Good luck to you the rest of you MCers out there. Stay strong.

Okay so I decided to start today instead of tomorrow. It has been a pretty good day. I started off the day with my SWF. I made the water lukewarm, added 2 tsp of sea salt and drank it slowly (little less then 10 min). It really wasn’t that bad. I guess I had myself worked up for the worst. I felt the effects in about an hour. I have had about 4 glasses of the lemonade, also not so bad. The ceyenne pepper did take a little getting use to at first. Each time I get a hunger pain I just drink some lemonade. So far no real cravings I think some of it is just mental. I hope the rest of my days go as smoothly.

We are now on day 2 of our detox and to be honest we are dying!
Only one of us felt the “flush” out after taking the salt water, and we’re both feeling it hard to keep to water and lemonade throughout the day. Heachaches are starting to get really bad, and shakiness is starting to kick in. Not feeling as revived and energetic as we were expecting.
Gonna try an stick with it a lil’ longer though and see how it goes.

I started this morning, but was too chicken to do the SWF. I’ve drank a few glasses of the lemonade and some water and so far so good. No real hunger pangs, but I do find myself thinking of food…alot. I plan on some herbal peppermint tea later this afternoon then the laxative tea before bed and my first SWF in the morning. I am going to take the advice of warming the water first and hopefully all will go well! Good luck to everyone!

Day 6 here! Feeling great!

Pint of SWF in AM and before bed. Lemonade 60-80oz a day. Lotsss of water! If you’re not feeling the flush on day 2 or 3, just wait. Past day 3 is a breeze! I’ve already lost 12lbs!

I’m waking up earlier than usual and feeling better (not a morning person usually). Getting a little exercise, not overdoing it because I’m still working as well. A few cravings here and there, but they’ve gone from chip and bacon cravings to really wanting some veggies! I’m excited to see how the rest of the journey turns out!

This will be my second time doing the cleanse and I’m excited to see how many people are currently doing the cleanse. I have a question though I was told that consuming garlic helps burn fat, could i add garlic to the recipe or is that an unsafe combination

Day three and no headache. I caved and ate a grapefruit – not because I was hungry but because my body is in sheer agony. My hips have never felt such pain. My seasoned friends who fast all the time say this is not for me. When people say they feel great I wonder how awful they felt before starting this! I feel as a Mack truck ran me over. My husband is still fasting, but he was decaffeinated before we began this. That would be my advice to anyone doing this fast – quit caffeine before attempting (my husband still had a headache, but did not last two full days like mine did).

I started the Master Cleanser on 05/22. I Saturday I ate nothing but raw fruit, veggies and water. That night I need my laxative Smooth Move. Sunday I drunk only veggie and fruit juices and water. Monday I started the Lemonaid and now on my 8th day. I havent had a stool since Sunday I hope this is normal. I think it is because all Im doing is putting fluids in. Havent seen really any hugh weight lost….1lb, but I’m sure the inches will start tapering off.
