I was with friends last night and had a lengthy discussion about New Year resolutions and how most people don’t stick to their resolutions for more then 2 weeks. There’s a lot of reasons why this happens. The truth is change is hard, and it’s easier to just stay the way you are.

If I could give just one piece of advice for anyone who wants to achieve anything it would be to embrace change and learn effective ways for dealing with the obstacles that will occur along the way.

It also helps if you can look at whatever you’re trying to accomplish as a process and remove as much negative thinking as possible. For example, if you can look at the Master Cleanse as a process of cleansing and rejuvenating your body and not dwell on the fact that you’re not eating you’ll have a much easier time doing it. That’s what I do and it makes a big difference.

Today is the last day of the Master Cleanse for me. This has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life, and I’m proud to have been able to share it with everyone who reads this blog.

Starting tomorrow I’m going to drink diluted fruit and vegetable juices, and slowly reintroduce whole foods into my diet over the next 3 days.

For anyone who started the cleanse late you can still jump in and keep us updated by posting a comment. I always love to hear from fellow Master Cleanser’s so feel free to share your thoughts.

I’ll be back tomorrow with my first ‘after the Master Cleanse’ post.

  1. Should I drink the sea salt every morning? I’m at 190lbs day 1. Looking forward to day -40lbs

  2. I Just purchased the Master Cleanse book yesterday and today I was out looking for where to round up the ingredients. At my local grocery store I noticed they sell ORGANIC lemon jucie in a bottle. On the ingredients list all there is is “Fresh Squeezed Lemon Juice”. Can I use this lemon juice instead of squeezing fresh lemons or will that affect how good of results I get??

  3. I’m at the end of day #3 of the Master Cleanse and I thought this is it, I’m done. The first 2 days weren’t hard for me, but this third day is hectic. What also got me discouraged is I’ve only lost 3 pounds. Well I guess 3 pounds in 3 days is good, but I was expecting like 2 pounds a day. I do look forward to expelling the waste every morning. The sea salt is magical. Once you get in down, it only takes about 15-20 to work. Scarfing it down is a challenge though. I drink mine hot and add a little lemon juice, so I think it’s a strong lemonade. After reading theses comments, I’m inspired to go longer.

  4. Hi! I am on my first pre-cleanse day. I have done this cleanse before, but without the help of Raylen’s book. I made it to 5 days before breaking down and eating healthy soups for two days and then back to regular eating. I felt great after the cleanse and I was able to continue with my healthy eating choices for a few months. I decided to do the cleanse because I tend to have a very sluggish intestinal system and the idea of fully cleansing out my insides just sounded great. So far I am fully motivated and hyped up about the 10 days. I will keep you posted in a few days to see how my progress is going. For anyone that is thinking about doing this cleanse, I believe that Raylen’s book is a true life saver! Thank You

  5. Today is my first day starting the master cleanse. I am using an herbal laxative, morning and night. I don’t want to try the sea salt. It will probably make me vomit! I’ve had several bowel movements and some cramping. The drink isn’t bad at all. Only use a little of the Cayenne pepper if you don’t want a strong pepper tast. It does burn slightly the throat and lips. We’ll see what happens on day 2.

  6. I started the Master Cleanse diet today, so far doing well but have a question. I bought the Master Cleanse Secrets last night through your website but did not receive the information I bought therefore I am out the money and the information to make this successful.

Please advise on how to get the product I bought.

  7. I started the cleanse on Thursday Feb 19th and I am on Day 3 now. I have missed the food but I had to do something. I felt my head was ready to explode with a stroke but now the feeling is gone. I weighed almost 180 lbs and today I am down to 173. I have been moderately riding my bike. I will continue on the full course and hopefully lose more weight. I have not cheated but the temptation is there especially the peanuts and cookies and thoughts of delicious dinners………but I will sacrifice and maybe do this on a monthly basis. Maybe just a few days a month. Is it ok to microwave the cleanse or will this kill all of the good minerals?
    Thank you, Charles

  12. Hi, I’m on day 6 and I’m pretty sure I’ll go to the end. I have done this about five times now and I tell you, it’s just as difficult each time. My problem is, I keep going back to my old way of eating shortly after the cleanse and so I have to start all over again. I intend to do differently this time.

I notice a couple of you said you have fruit juices on day 11…I thought you could only have Orange Juice? Tine I like your way of winding down, I may just do that…

I have also found that for the first 4 or 5 days, the weight loss is minimal and then it picks up after.

  13. I’m on my 6th day as of today Jan 22, 2009.
I had already given up caffeine before the holidays so only had mild headaches day 2 and 3. Today I am tired, must needed more sleep. I haven’t had too much detox symptons but wonder if maybe I should be eliminating more through BM. Anyway I am going to do the 10 days and go with fruit juice and veggie just on day 11 and 12. Then on 13 going to go on to eating fruits and veggies. Then day 14 will introduce maybe nuts or something to that effect. It does take some discipline so good job to all that have managed to succeed.!!

  14. Hello all that are still checking in and welcome to the newer group… I am wrapping up day 21! YAY … I have lost 28.5 pounds and feel GREAT! I am well on my way to 31 day and 31 pounds! I just incorporated 1 10oz glass of water with 2T of Psyllum hulls today so wee will see if this changes the scale in the morning ….
Best of luck to you all and I will check in again soon!

  15. Raylen, I am on my first day and really praying I will make it. I am hungry, but it is not too bad. I do need to ask you a question. I chew nicotine gum and it is very difficult to not chew it. Can I continue chewing this on the cleanse or no? If it keeps me from losing weight and the cleanse working then I will do my best to not chew it. Please advise

  16. Four years ago, I tried the MC and barely lasted 3 days, mostly due to horrible headaches from caffeine withdrawal.

Today I’m on Day 5 and this time has been so much easier with Raylen’s secrets! Another good decision this time was to ween myself off caffeine a week BEFORE I started the MC. I’ve had no headaches this time, and with the psyllium and wheat grass, my hunger has been managable.
However, last night I had to cook for my kids because my husband was running late, and that made me very irritable! As of today, I’ve lost 9.5 lbs total, and that’s great motivation. I’m pretty sure I’m going make the whole ten days! I just keep telling myself “you can have “x” in another week or so”, and I ask myself “would you really be desiring that Nutty Buddy under normal circumstances?” The answer is No–I don’t ever eat chocolate!

I do find myself craving protein, especially eggs! Is that normal?

  17. Olá se tivar o livro THE MASTER CLEANSER EM PORTUGUÊS,me avisen pois estou lendo o livro UM EXTRAORDINÁRIO MODO DE VIVER DE TODD MICHAEL E ELE FALA NESSE LIVRO E QUE TEM EM PORTUGUÊS. DEDE JÁ OBRIGADA.

  18. Last day for me as well. What a great way to start 2009. I feel refreshed, energized, and ready to go. I don’t yawn all day or want to take a nap when I get home from work, instead I want to go out and spend time with friends!! So glad I did the cleanse. Tomorrow I’ll drink orange juice and transition slowly into solid food. This is my second cleanse and the first time, after being so diligent for ten days, I jumped right into solid food. Not a good idea. Although it didn’t hurt me – the guilt wasn’t worth it.

  19. Hi, Congrads on your cleansing. I started the lemonade diet on Jan. 2 and my son, on Jan. 3. I’ll be finishing tomorrow and he the following day. I have two questions for you.

    1. Did your bowel movements every get a clear color? if not, how many days does a person have to be on the diet inorder to see one?

    2. I have read that inorder to replace the good bacteria that has been washed out from the intestines, one should take probiotic supplements. I’ll totally confused about this. Do you have any knowledge of when to take them?

  20. Congratulations Raylen! I’m on Day 6 and still find it fairly easy. I know I’ll make it to Day 10. The only weird thing is that I haven’t lost any weight or inches yet, despite following the plan carefully. I guess I just have to be patient.
