How Much Weight Can You Lose On The Lemonade Diet

Using the lemonade diet for weight loss is a popular trend these days. Even though the lemonade diet is not technically a weight loss diet (it’s a cleanse that promotes whole body health) it is a fantastic way to drop a quick couple pounds.

The question I often get asked then is, “how much weight will I lose?”

Assuming you stay on the lemonade diet for 10 days, which is what most people do, you can expect to lose anywhere from 5-15 pounds. Some people will lose a little more but that’s the average.

Keep in mind that this is not all fat. During the lemonade diet you’ll be passing a lot of internal waste. You’ll also lose some water weight if you started the cleanse a little bloated. One tip for losing even more weight is to follow a healthy diet after the lemonade diet because you’re body will be used to a reduce calorie diet so it won’t be so hard to transition into a healthy low calorie diet.

This is the end of Day 3 for me, I’m 28 and started at 171 lbs. My goal weight is 135. I have to say that despite a few obvious stabs of hunger on my first day, it’s been smooth sailing, I am quite calm, content, focused, and present. I’m in a unique position right now where I work from home so I’m relaxed to say the least. I drink herbal teas and make a pitcher of herbal tea and add peppermint from my garden and ice it as a refreshing treat. I have been drinking 2-3 large glasses of lemonade per day: 1 whole lemon juiced in my juicer, 1/10 tbsp cayenne and 2 tbsps agave syrup. I juice the lemons fresh for each glass and this really makes a difference in the taste. I have several glasses of water all day long. Smooth move (I like to call it Chocolaxtea) at night, SWF in the morning, although I can only take 1/2 the quart. Last time I tried to do this was in the winter and I worked 10 hour shifts. I think the ease of it is coming with having lazy hot summer days where I’d rather drink than eat. I’ve lost 3 lbs so far. I also think it helps to read stuff about the Master Cleanse, juicing, raw foods, and fasting on a regular basis to keep me motivated. Currently reading Natalia Rose’s “New Energy Body”. Just finished 10 days. I lost 1o lbs. I feel great! I think I will keep going. I found it very easy after the first few days.

Today is day 4 on the MC, yes, i decided to continue on for another 3days. It’s been so difficult fighting off the food cravings. I’ve lost 3lbs in 3 days only because i cheated on day 2 eating some carrots (i believe). Anywhoo, it’s getting better by the day, i’ve been told the 1st few days is the hardest. I’m only taking the laxative tea at bedtime and not the SWF (i just can seem to keep this down), hopefully, i’ll continue to cleanse my body and lose some more weigh. Will report back on day 6.

I have a Couple of questions! Hopefully someone can help…
I have never done this cleanse before ( any cleanse ) but am ready to start the MC.
I bought all the supplies needed to make the lemonade drink.
My question is should I be doing anything else with this juice? I see some have mentioned lax at night and a salt flush… Not sure what that is and if I need to do that along with the cleanse…
And lastly – when I start the lemonade juice drink should I be prepared to spend the day in the bathroom!!!??? :-/

Also – of anyone wants a buddy I could use one as well! Hoping that I make it past the first 4 HOURS! :-)

Hello, I’m on day 2 and lost 2lbs already!! It’s very motivating getting on the scale. It’s almost end of day 2…onto 3. Hoping to do this for 10-12 days. How are you guys doing? I’m starving, but I drink lots of water and lemonade that it fills me up. And, I had to sacrifice getting coffee or lunches with friends. I think its not the hunger that bothers me, but the socializing and nightlife that I will miss. Wish me luck!

i first tried the master cleanse in may 2011 and lasted 4 days as my head wasnt really in the right mind frame so i quit, but then when i was eventually determined i did the master cleanse aug 2011 weighing 15 stone… i did it for 17 days, and went down to 12 an a half stone i then started back on soups on brown bread but that quickly went back to chips and white bread i didnt really eat to healthy but didnt overeat as i felt full a lot quicker as my stomach had shrunk… but for some strange reason i kept losing weight and i wasnt doin any excercises, i am now at 11 stone 3 pounds, and i am starting the cleanse again tommorrow as i want to get back to eating healthy and excercise which i have never done… i am 5 ft 10 so all d weight is pretty much like a tyre around my waist and under my bum lol so i hope to lose all that this time… i absolutely love the cleanse and an hoping to do the full 40 days this time, but you must be in the right mind frame to do this as it isnt easy but after every day passes and u get over the fact u havent eaten its pretty easy i found… best of luck to you all… i know its changed my life in a huge way… i would 100% recommend it :)

Hey everyone! Today is my first day. I was supposed to start yesterday but woke up feeling so icky abut all the food I had yesterday(all sugar and unhealthy) and decided i should maybe use my breakfast to ease into it and start today at lunch time. I had one muffin and two apricots, and I will be doing the master cleanse for the next 10 days. I hope I find the courage inside me to stick to it, and teach myself, acquire finally some self-discipline because i know that it will be the beginning to the end of an unhealthy diet and lifestyle for me. I want to treat my body like it is my temple, cheers to new beginnings everyone. I’m starting my MC diet again today, I’ve tried twice before and never made it past day 2. I’m determined to stick with it this time, taking Priya’s (above) advice in setting small goals, so I’m starting with 3 days and go further as i see results. I’m 5’6″, starting wt 172lbs. Oh yeah, quick tip – MAKE SURE YOU DRINK ENOUGH LEMONADE!! As the days go by, you may begin to grow bored with the taste of the lemonade, or the mere thought of drinking another sip may simply depress you. You may find yourself drinking just 2 or 3 glasses. But you won’t last if you cut back on your calories in this way. You’ll just end up starving, irritable, and weak, which will make you quit early. To change things up in those last days, try using limes instead of lemons or even combining limes and lemons to create a different taste. Limes are perfectly acceptable, and they may help you reach your goal.

This is my 4th time cleansing, and I’m at the end of day 5. This cleanse actually helped me become a vegetarian a few years back after realizing how much my health improved without meat in my tummy. This is the first time I have done the cleanse with a desire for weight loss. A stressful job and too many baked goods led to a 10-lb gain! I’m 5’10″ and I started the cleanse at 165lbs. Now at the end of day 5, I am 156. I’m hoping to go for 15 days this time since I’ve always quit at 10 days whether I feel “finished” or not. Good luck everyone!

Hi all. im on day 4 of the MC, not too sure how many days im doing it for yet but so far all is well. i started at 150lb and im now 145lb so -5lb so far which im happy about. ive also been eating a healthy meal for dinner everyday so really happy im still losing weight with a mix of the Mc and healthy food. im not having cravings or struggling yet, probs as i eat a little too. hopefully all will go well for a few weeks i want to lose 20lb

Hi everyone,
I did the cleanse last year for 6 weeks and I lost 22 kg. It was hard the first 3 days as you can get a massive migraine because of all the toxins, coffee, tea,cigarettes and hunger, but it went all smooth after that, you just get use to that and your body is not that hungry after that. After 3-4 weeks you can hit a plateau and you don’t lose anything but it is all biologically normal and you need to fight through it and then you start dropping weight again.
My advice is not to exercise too much in the 2 first weeks , you can go for a walk but no more then start increasing it or go swimming..
DO NOT start eating straightaway, start with a juice, then a salad, the insert proteins into your daily meals and wait for at least 2 weeks to start having carbs.
I hope this help! I personally do the cleanse 1 day a week to keep the toxins out.

Hello all! Im 17 and 5’2″ and 130 lb. my goals to lose 20 lb before school and hopefully become a size 6 lol but Im on my third day right now and I’m dying here :( I was hoping to lose 20 lb but I’m so unmotivated and hungry…on the plus side I’ve actually lost 3 lb..really should try out the new MC but can’t find any info on it :/

Today is day one of the MC for me! I have not really felt hungry today. I plan to do ten days. I just had a baby a few weeks ago and I need to lose the weight. I hope to atleast lose 15lbs.

I am on the 7th day and I really don’t think I have lost any weight could that be possible. I can’t say I have exercise except for today, but I have been following the diet fully.
I am really frustrated because I was really hoping to loose some weight, I will take it till day number 10, but I really don’t think I can even take it anymore. The more days go by the more hungry I am and is not the hunger I felt at the beginning is a hunger of my body asking for food solid. Then I am thinking that another 10 days, but 2 days before I can eat solid again. I think that I am so hung up with loosing the weight that I am not loosing any weight. Is this possible?

Hello Everyone!

This is my 3rd time doing the master cleanser. I have kept the weight off both times AND I didn’t eat carrots and celery sticks all day! lol BUT I also workout and run, not weekly, but from time to time. And you can’t always eat what you want. For instance, if I eat bad one day. I will work out extra hard and eat really good for the next couple of days and the weight comes right off. Anyway, overall I’ve lost 30 lbs over time with working out and doing the master cleanser those two times. I haven’t lost the maximum possible because I’ve built muscle, which is great because I’m beginning to get that definition that everyone wants. I’m on day 2 of the master cleanse now and I’m fine. I keep myself busy. But I’m also going to do a mild work out with it IF I have the energy. You won’t lose as much but it’ll help you not to lose so much muscle. Good luck everyone!

I am 197, size 13 at eighteen years old, oh boy! I’m trying to get healthy. I don’t want to be like the girls who starve themselves. So, I’ll try it for ten days. With exercise, of course. I don’t want to start my adult life as an obese mess. Because I’ve been gaining a lot, quick, here lately.

I’m starting the Master Cleanse this coming Sunday – I’m nervous I won’t be able to make it 10 days! I’ve researched the cleanse a good bit and have already bought all the ingrediants (other than the lemons). I’m hoping to lose 5-10 lbs but I’m afraid I’ll give in to cravings after a few days! I’m hoping the whole thing will give me a better outlook on food in general.

Hey all,

In a couple days I’ll be doing the cleanse for my third time. Seems I have a bit of a routine going on. Both times I’ve done the cleanse I’ve done it for roughly a month and lost about 30 pounds. My issue is not keeping it off after it’s all said and done. So for all those asking, yes it’s DEFINITELY possible. This time I plan on using the cleanse to jumpstart a healthier lifestyle. The key is willpower and determination. If you make it 3 days, and want to give in to the cravings, just think about how far you’ve come already, and how you’ll have to start back at square one ALL over again. That mindset is what kept me going strong both other times I’ve done it.

P.S. – it’s better to take the laxative tea at night, and do the salt water flush in the morning, and not in reverse. Otherwise, if you pass out, you MAY wake up with brown sheets. Just sayin. lol

Hey everyone.. I’m on day 3 of 10 on the MC. gud luck to everyone starting their MC!!!.. i have lost 6 lbs so far.. 151 to 145….so losing weight and getting rid of toxins is definitely keeping me motivated . have been craving curly fries for some reason but just taking it in small steps.. i gave myself goals.. first 3 days.. if i make it, ill go to 5.. if make that ill go to 8.. etc. :) hope the idea helps .

Hi fellow MCers,

I am starting my cleanse tomorrow and I am nervous to say the least. I am 27 years old, 5’5″ and 165 pounds. This is the heaviest I have been in the last 5 years. After a horrible break up and an even worse job situation, my comfort came from food and wine. Its summer and I am embarrassed to go out in a bathing suit and I feel like I am wasting my life!? I am shooting for 145 pounds and to start a healthier lifestyle.

So, I am starting the Master Cleanse tomorrow and I have set up a calendar with different things I will buy myself WHEN I stick with the cleanse. I am going for 14 days and plan on exercising an hour each day.

If anyone would like a buddy in this, let me know!! Good luck to everyone, I know this isn’t going to be easy.

I started the cleanse two days ago and litterally failed both days! lol first day made it till about 4pm and ended up eating a subway sandwhich. the next day made it till 5 and then had some cake and a muffin cuz everyone around me was eating unhealthy! so today i started again and I am doing just fine. its 12pm and i hope to finish the day to feel proud of myself! i weight 145 and am hoping to loose around 10 pounds. Its so hard for me to stay motivated i hate it!

Hey, Emma, so I’m curious, How did it go? I have not done this cleanse yet but am considering it. I’ve done fasts (water only) for both spiritual and health reasons and benefited GREATly from them. In terms of keeping the weight off with this kind of thing, it will be CRITICAL to come off it slooooowly (that’s where the most self-control comes in, especially when you feel so hungry!). I’ve done 3 day, water-only fasts. I usually lose about 8lbs during this time. Then, I take about 3 days of easing back into a healthy normal diet. For example, Day 1 might be only water with some clear juice and later on some fruit, Day 2 I may add salad (no dressing), fresh veggies and later cooked veggies & some grains, Day 3 I’ll add in some dairy and legumes and maybe some fish or chicken by the end of Day 3. All the while, keep eating fruits and veggies. With a healthy diet, smaller portions and some exercise, I’ve have great success keeping the weight off and even continuing to lose! :) You’ll feel better too! :) Blessings to you!

Hello all, I’m starting the cleanse today and am very excited I can hardly sleep! I’ve done this before 2 other times for 10 days but now shooting for 21! Hoping this will keep me motivated. I had trouble in the past keeping te weight off and felt starving afterwards :( any tips or experiences on how to keep the wight off would be greatly appreciated. :) hoping to lose 20 pounds and I’ll be at my goal.
