My Uncle who grew up making maple syrup and then proceeded to market it out of Burlington, VT for fifty years plus. He said when I asked about formaldehyde they used to tap the trees with it but it was outlawed and they have new devices to tap the trees now so that said couldn't we use the regular grade B maple?
